District to Transition K-4 iPads to In-School Use Beginning in 2026-2027

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, students in grades 1-4 will continue to be assigned iPads for instructional use, but these devices will remain in classrooms and will no longer be sent home. Kindergarten students will use shared iPads in the classroom, and individual device assignments at that level will be discontinued.

The December issue of the Points of Pride Newsletter covers important updates and touching personal stories, including: the Student Support Specialist Program, ensuring academic success, the cyber charter academic comparison, enhancing school bus safety, and moments that make us #WestShoreProud!

Paper copies of Points of Pride were mailed to all West Shore School District residents and an electronic version can be found under the Communications Department tab.

Health and Safety Plan

During the 2025-2026 school year we will continuously monitor and assess health information pertaining to COVID-19; requirements received from PDE, DOH, or any other regulatory agency; and information from local health care providers to determine best practices moving forward and to guide our decision making.
