The content of our curriculum and the choice of subjects we teach aims to challenge our students’ imagination, knowledge and way of thinking. Our teachers are all subject specialists with access to state-of-the-art facilities. They promote creative thinking and problem solving in their lessons. Our innovative timetable of 90 minute lessons carried throughout our 3 year GCSE courses, allows students the time and space to become reflective, resilient and resourceful – ready to face the modern world.

We are creative in how we teach, in the provision of our equipment and the use of our facilities. We believe that creativity and problem solving will be vital to our students’ future successes. We make a concerted effort to provide both the tools and the time to ensure they learn to think creatively and critically. While our creative arts classrooms and facilities lack for nothing when it comes to inspiring imagination, creativity is not confined to these subjects at Kew House School. It is at the heart of our education and woven into all aspects.

We encourage our students to participate in all areas of school life. From whole school plays  (which really do involve the whole school), to sports fixtures, music concerts, charity work, workshops and public speaking – there are countless ways for every child to get involved at Kew House School. This is because we believe children progress further in doing what they enjoy when they are given the opportunity and are actively encouraged to take part.

We believe that education is a shared responsibility; it works best when all parties are engaged – the school, teachers, parents and the students themselves. Kew House School operates with an ‘Open Door’ policy, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Parents have their own space – The Parent Café and are welcome to drop in any time, for any reason – be it a cup of coffee with friends or catching up with a teacher to talk about their child’s progress.  Kew House School inspires a strong sense of collectivism to further support in student progression.
