Spencerport Central School District revises budget ahead of revote
Ogden, N.Y. — One week before voters decide on a revised budget plan, the Spencerport Central School District held a budget hearing Tuesday.
Voters rejected the district's $107 million spending plan for the 2026-27 school year during the initial vote May 19.
BACKGROUND: Spencerport voters reject proposed school budget, forcing district to redraw plan
The initial plan would have represented a 4.7% increase in the tax levy and a larger budget than last year's $102.5 million approved plan.
The revised proposal represents a 2.8% tax levy.
"We made some reductions in terms of some equipment, some opportunities for students such as clubs, activities," Superintendent Ty Zinkiewich said. "We made some other modifications just to reduce the levy to a level that we feel will be more palatable for our community."
The revote is scheduled for June 16 from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. at the district's office building.
