The Health & Technology District in Surrey, British Columbia is the product of a long-term city-building strategy spanning more than two decades. Beginning in the mid-2000s, early investments focused on strategic land assembly and the delivery of critically needed care facilities, establishing a foundation adjacent to Surrey Memorial Hospital well before formal district development.
What began with the delivery of City Centre 1 has evolved into a coordinated, eight-building campus—City Centres 1 through 9—integrating healthcare, education, technology, and housing within a walkable, transit-connected environment. Located beside one of Canada’s busiest hospital campuses, the District was intentionally planned to support applied learning, workforce development, and long-term public benefit through a cohesive, phased approach to development.
