Yaz sighed in frustration. “It’s no use!”
“Don’t be like that Yaz! We’ve almost got them, I’m sure of it.” the Doctor wiped the sweat off her brow. “Lay down on the bed.” she demanded.
Yaz’s face was on fire. “What?”
The Doctor was oblivious, shucking off her jacket and rolling up the white sleeves underneath her t-shirt. “C’mon then, we’ll get more leverage.”
Having lost her dignity back in that snow drift, Yaz obeyed, awkwardly shuffling to the end of the bed and plopping down.
“Now lay back and grab the headboard.”19th century Austria, a raging blizzard, and only one bed: what could go wrong?

Turned to stone, in the moment before she is recalled, the Doctor finds a way out. That's the thing – number one takeaway from all her years spent travelling – there's always a way out. Sometimes, they're less than ideal. Less than conventional, or corporeal, or entirely pleasant. Because she is an angel now, an image in a human mind. In the only mind she would trust to keep her safe, even as her new state of being unravels the person she thought she was, before she realised the truth.
