Gov. Beshear cancels planned stop in western Ky.
HICKMAN, Ky. (KFVS) - Governor Andy Beshear canceled a stop in western Kentucky planned for Friday, August 2, according to his office.
They say Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman will visit the Jackson Purchase Distillery instead. An official reason for the change was not given.
Beshear remains among the top contenders as Vice President Kamala Harris considers who she’ll choose as her running mate.
The distillery will dedicate its new 25,000-barrel rickhouse on Friday. Local leaders and Jackson Purchase employees will attend the celebration at 3 p.m.
According to the Kentucky Distillers Association, Jackson Purchase is one of the fastest-growing distilleries in the United States.
The lieutenant governor will be in Cadiz, Kentucky for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Friday to open the new Career and Technical Education Center with Trigg County Public Schools.
