Far fewer 9-year-old students in the United States say they read every day for fun in 2025, compared with a few years earlier. And 13-year-olds followed a similar trend, answering "yes" at lower levels, compared with decades earlier. That's according to new results from a long-term trend report from the National Assessment for Educational Progress.
