About Dwight de Leon
Dwight de Leon is a multimedia reporter who covers politics for Rappler. He is currently assigned to Congress, and has written stories on the Marcos Jr. presidency, the Commission on Elections, and local government units.
His portfolio includes in-depth profiles of key political figures and investigations into alleged corruption in government. In 2025, he was named a Jaime V. Ongpin fellow by the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility.
Before his stint with Rappler, Dwight was a program producer and writer for various shows of the ABS-CBN News Channel, such as Top Story, ANC Headlines, Balitang America, and The World Tonight. In college, he oversaw a number of student programs for DZUP 1602.
Dwight, who hails from Oriental Mindoro, graduated magna cum laude in 2017 with a degree in broadcast communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Outside of journalism, he's into long-distance running, and has already finished two full marathons.
