Tim Brandt

Tim Brandt is entering his 13th season with the Sheyenne Mustangs boys' basketball program, with the 2025-26 season being his 4th season as head coach.

Coach Brandt has been with the Sheyenne boys' basketball program since 2013, before the program had a varsity team. Brandt started as a freshman coach in the 2013-14 season, then transitioned to the JV coach the following season. He held that position until the 2021-22 season, and was named head coach on May 19th, 2022. 

Prior to coming to Sheyenne in 2013, Brandt had coaching stops at Hillsboro/Central Valley (2012-13), Fargo North High School (2011-2012), Surrey High School (2010-2011), and Minot State University (2007-2008;2009-2010).

Coach Brandt and his staff helped lead the Sheyenne Mustangs boys' basketball team to the programs first state championship with a 78-62 win over Fargo North in March of 2024 at the Bismarck Event Center.

Brandt is a native of Minot, North Dakota. He graduated from Minot High School in 2003, and Minot State University in 2008 and again in 2011. He teaches health and physical education at Sheyenne High School. He and his wife, Sam, were married in 2011. They have two boys, Drake (10) and Jock (6).
