Ben Creider
Sports Communications Professional
Social, Strategic Storyteller
I am a 10-sport communications professional who is always looking for new and innovative ways to share compelling stories through the power of data, social media and strategic media relations. Whether it’s managing credentials and media access, crafting press releases and game notes or coordinating interviews for players and coaches, I thrive in fast-paced environments where storytelling meets real-time engagement.
My approach is built on curiosity and intentionality, both in my personal and professional life. I believe the best stories come from asking the right questions, digging into the details and finding unique ways to connect audiences with the game. When I’m not sorting through stat sheets, you’ll find me chasing new stories — whether on the sidelines, in the press box or on my next hiking adventure.
Where am I today?
I currently work for Hornets Sports & Entertainment, leading media relations, strategic messaging and digital communications initiatives during the Greensboro Swarm’s championship season while supporting communications efforts for the Charlotte Hornets. Previous roles included serving as communications coordinator for FC Tulsa and directing communications for Oklahoma State Women’s Golf at Oklahoma State University, where I oversaw communications, graphic design and photography initiatives, along with positions at USA Softball and Sports Illustrated.
My passion for storytelling and digital strategy continues to drive my work across communications and marketing. Throughout my career, I have generated more than 10 million impressions and 3 million video views while publishing 1,100+ articles and press releases and producing 360+ podcast episodes spanning hundreds of hours of audio content.
