Forgetting What I Never Knew: An Allan A Dale Mix

Allan is my favorite character in Robin Hood and if I love a character I'm bound to make a mix. Sometimes I don't post my mixes but I'm pretty happy with this one so yay. It's about Allan's series 2 character arc so SPOILERS.

And the king and queen take their place beneath the frozen sky that took away the life of the jester's eye.

Kind of Allan to Robin. Allan has never really known loyalty/family/etc so when Robin accuses him of being a traitor well he never really knew how to not be. And the second line refers to how Allan is jealous of Robin & Marian and how after this whole Sherwood thing is over they'll be set up nicely in Locksley while he will still be a poor peasant.


belle & sebastian - the boy done wrong again

Allan's jealous that Robin is "always in the sun." But he regrets what he's done and wants to make up for it.

This made a lot more sense when I was listening to it. But basically it's supposed to be about the confrontation at the Inn when Allan thinks Robin is going to kill him.

Allan has lost his way and he wants to go back to how it was before he betrayed the gang.

This is supposed to be an Allan/Djaq/Will song. Because they're all BFF with eachother. Pretty self explanatory. Just about how much he misses them. There's some lines in the song that make it seem like he's fallen for "another girl." We'll call that other girl Guy of Gisbourne. lol

Just how the gang are not cool with seeing him around working for Guy and how they often beat him up. He's the 'black sheep.' And Allan is taking the easy way out instead of trying to win back their loyalty.

That's pretty self explanatory. After the outlaws kicked him out he needed somewhere to go so he went to Guy. And he starts working for him even though he knows Guy wouldn't blink if he was killed.

Allan is trying to forget what he is doing (through whoring and drinking, ya know the Allan way) But he'll never be able to forget it.

Allan wants to change and go back to the gang but he thinks he can't so he just keeps on working for Guy but in his mind he longs for Sherwood. And yeah another cliche song.

Allan has had a pretty shit life so at the first chance of setting himself up nicely with money and security he jumps at it. But now he realizes he doesn't want that anymore. He was happy with the outlaws.
