SyncBackSE 5.6
Synchronize and back up your personal data automatically
Program info
SyncBackSE is an easy-to-use program wherewith users can create a backup in five minutes. The program utilizes a wizard-like approach for executing backup tasks. Apart from just storing files to a desired location, the program also has capabilities to synchronize, mirror, and group files.
Its integrated Profile wizard guides the user through the process of creating a backup or a whole synchronization profile. A Restore wizard assists users when they need to get back certain files; and the Technical wizard creates files for technical support to assist users if something goes wrong. Additionally, the program includes a file zipping function to save up space when performing a backup.
Users can create Snapshots of their files so as to recover data by rolling back to a specific point. Creating backup files with encryption and unicode file names is also supported.
I noticed the following issue when testing SyncBackSE on Vista: it just happened to freeze on occasions during backups. This made the program somewhat less reliable.
Pros
- Snapshots
- FTP backup
- Encryption
Cons
- Freezes occasionally
- Bugs with the scheduling feature
