This journal is "semi" friends locked. Some of my entries are public, and some of my entries are friends only. There's usually a reason why I friends lock entries, but there's no real pattern involved. Perhaps it just makes me feel better.

If you would like to be added, please comment. I love making new lj friends, but it's always nice to know who is asking to be a friend and what we might have in common.

And that's it. Thanks!

Good news on the job front! So, I was originally offered a part-time position where I would work Friday and Saturday nights (third shift) and then pick up random shifts here and there. But a couple people are leaving, so I was able to snag a full-time second shift weekday position... I'll have my weekends back! Finally! Official start date isn't until June 23, so I'll be doing some seconds and thirds until then. But still, I'm excited! Worked a couple seconds this week already, and I think it went well. And tonight and tomorrow, I'll be doing thirds. Will be my first third shift ever tonight, so wish me luck! I'll need it! Hopefully, I won't feel the need to fall asleep every second. Haha.

I haven't been up to a whole lot since my last post. Just relaxing, doing some organizing, rewatching Battlestar Galactica, and so on. Really need to get more done, but it's so nice not. Haha! I did just get my 2013 Scrapbook up and running. I've gotten through quite a bit of books compared to the past couple of years. So happy about that! I love having extra time to read now.

Fandom news. Still have to buy the Popcorn dvd and also listen to the new single. *sigh* I'm such a bad fan. I've been vowing to be better, but it has yet to happen. Someone slap me into shape, please. ;)

This is me procrastinating. What I should be doing is working on case studies for a fluoroscopy project. Not fun at all, those case studies. Hopefully, I can buckle down after lunch. That's the plan, at least.

Has anyone heard of Irene Sendler? Just learned about her this morning. She saved 2500 Jewish children from the concentration camps during World War II. With the help of many others, of course, but her story is amazing. Here's a good overview, if you're curious. Apparently, she's been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize several times although has not received it. One time was when Al Gore won for his global warming piece. As important as that might have been, Al Gore didn't risk his life to save people. That's my opinion, though; what do I know?

Anyone remember that meme about all the lovely guys that I've been working on since... well... forever? Still trying to finish it by the end of the year. (Yes, that's still quite a bit of time, but the meme itself is taking quite a bit of time.) Therefore, please head on over and Vote for the Pretties when you can. There's only been four votes so far, and it's all tied up. So, yeah, definitely need some more participants than that. Thanks in advance!

It's been forever since you've heard from me... again. Super sorry! But as I'm relaxing (and procrastinating), I thought I'd stop by and say hi. I have my last final of the term tomorrow afternoon, and then I have a two week break. Yay! Sooo looking forward to it! And hopefully, I'll make it on here and write a better update. *crosses fingers*

I miss you guys! And fangirling! And reading everyone's entries! And well, everything here!

Take care, and keep an eye out for me. *HUGS*

9/11
On Monday, I'll have been an LJ member for nine whole years. Today being that well-known day of September 11th, here is what I wrote on my debut entry:

Although a couple days have passed since the terrible events of September 11th, I feel the need to express just a little of my thoughts.

I am glad to see that so many nations have been coming together in unity for the fight against terrorism. It is sad that this solidarity has to come at a time of such a great loss. I wish it could have happened much sooner, but there is only so much that can be done.

For all those who are the praying type, please just remember in your thoughts all those people affected by Tuesday's terrorism. Pray for the victims and their families so that their wounds shall be put at rest. Pray for the president and the United States government in hopes that a peaceful resolution will soon come into place. Pray for all American citizens and citizens worldwide uniting together in this time of loss. And lastly, pray for those who cheered this horrible act on, for that they may soon see that the killing of the innocent is a sorrowful wrong-doing.

Thank you for listening to me go on about this tonight. I know many have heard these types of messages over and over. I know that sometimes I even get annoyed by them. I hope that you and your family are together at this time celebrating your lives with each other. I wish you well, and goodnight.
