Aug. 2nd, 2011 @ 07:15 am My LJ
I'm going to be changing my LJ to something more private and personal. My bitch-casting and rants I don't mind being publicized will stay on G+ or TwitFace.

Thus, I'm going to trim the friends list down to those I've had very personal relationships with which have been reciprocal.

If you still want to keep up on my meanderings, by all means connect with me through http://about.me/wadestewart

If you feel I've removed you in error please let me know and let's chat about it. Thanks!

I use Tasks in Outlook to track my projects and other-than-administrative duties. I was messing with the filters and columns and created a little "what I did today" view.

Today was pretty busy, as days go. Not wild but not quiet either.

- Setting up pc/mac print services on a peer network.
- Fix an extra folder someone created.
- Make some CD labels
- Set up a structural engineer with access on two of our websites.
- Conferred with mgmnt on how they want to offer guest plotter services.
- Updated virtualization plans.
- Did some work on the how-to docs for SharePoint, and added some site changes to try.
- Checked on the firewall's fans since one has gone bad I need to check on the other.
- Fixed the In/Out Kiosk (motherboard replacement), and shipped back the bad one.
- Did a warranty search and extension quote for the remote office's plotter.
- MS Excel tech support
- Updated 4 other projects with various information for future study or consideration.

Because poor people should start going to church.

"And Williams questioned how people cut off from getting health insurance benefits from the Basic Health Plan, Disability Lifeline or other programs would get them from philanthropic groups like churches and nonprofits."

Dec. 10th, 2010 @ 09:46 am Who bears the burden of the tax cuts Republicans & the Administration want to preserve for the rich?
Clients of the Department of Health and Human Services in WA State received a letter this week notifying clients of cuts. These services will no longer be available as of January 1, 2011. They include:

For clients 21 years of age and older:

- Dental services - Routine and/or non-emergency. Includes dentures.

- Hearing services

- Hospice services - This means end-of-life care for the poor.

- Foot care - Only acute conditions will be covered. Nothing preventative.

- Vision aids - Frames, lenses and contacts. Exams and fitting services are covered.

For Children in a School Program:

"DSHS will no longer pay school districts for special education-related medical services delivered to Medicaid-enrolled children in special education..."

For ALL Clients:

"Medicare Part D Co-Pays for pharmacy services will no longer be paid..." I include this to be complete but the word "Services" doesn't imply to me "medications". I'm curious what this actually means.

Note: I am summarizing this information from the actual letter by DSHS. I did not find this information online otherwise I'd provide a link.

Tacoma's business tax threshold raised to $250,000 | Tacoma - The News Tribune:
Specifically, the ordinance lifts the city’s taxable threshold that determines which small businesses are required to pay the city’s B&O tax. Starting Jan. 1, only businesses with gross annual revenues of $250,000 or more will be subject to the city tax under the new law. The previous threshold was $75,000.
This makes Tacoma very inviting for starting a small business.  Hmm!
