Okay so I was bored... And because a newsletter article about ItStartsWith.Us showed up in my e-mail, I decided to go join this group and see if I could be part of their mission. The idea behind it was simple: You sign up and then each week, they'll send you an e-mail with "missions" for you to do. Those missions are (sort-of) random acts of kindness and you can choose whether you want to do it or not. That's it. I think it's really kinda cool.

Now let's see if I'll be able to step out of my comfort zone to be able to do this...

I woke up again to more news about the bus incident in the Philippines... again, thanks to my friends on Facebook.

Oh my God, I recognise the uniform. What are these people thinking?! That... That place isn't a tourist attraction. Were they completely unaware of what happened or did they just go, "OH LOOK! THIS WAS ON THE NEWS LAST NIGHT! LET'S TAKE A PICTURE TO PROVE THAT WE'VE BEEN THERE, TOO!" This is downright being insensitive.

I badly want to hit my head against the wall right now...

Aaaand a call from the school saying that I will be a note-taker for my English 101 class made me take my mind off things. Last semester, I was actually considering being a note-taker for this coming semester. Now I have that chance to be one. Wow. Can those people read minds? Because I seriously didn't mention anything to anyone about wanting to be a note-taker... I didn't even know what you need to do to become one.

I am now confused... and a bit scared.

And because you didn't know, I wanted to be a note-taker because there was this guy at my Sociology class before who's just there, sitting somewhere in the room, taking notes. I thought it was cool and that's when I thought of being one. End of story.

Have I told you that I'm excited to go back? I want to see if I could actually make friends this school year. I didn't make any last year... or maybe I did, if you count that guy from Music class that I used to talk to always... It'd be nice if we could have another class together again. Because I probably wouldn't be able to sleep if I don't make a journal about it... I know it's a bit late and all but...

If you've been listening to the news, you've probably heard about THIS. (Another related article here) Really, I don't even know what to say about the incident. To the families of the victims, I know you won't be able to read this but I'm so sorry that this happened. When I woke up this morning it was the first thing I read, thanks to my friends on Facebook. I am still a bit... shocked and all I could think about was, "Again? This is happening again?" We've had lots of hostage incidents in the past and having another one to add to the list just... just makes the Philippines look worse.

I guess it wouldn't be a surprise that the Hong Kong government is in rage because of this and issued a travel ban on the Philippines. Six more countries followed suit and now I'm sort of worried about our tourism industry. Hearing comments saying that people don't want to travel to the Philippines anymore makes me depressed. ;n; Seriously, beneath all the horrible stuff (a lousy police force, a good-for-nothing government, the crimes and all), I still think believe that the Philippines is a nice country. ;A; We've got all this wonderful historical tourist spots and lovely beaches and I know that those Chinese tourists just wanted to have a wonderful time there. *sobs* I'm so sorry their visit ended in a tragedy...

GUTTERS.

Summary (copy-paste'd from the kink meme): The Calamity has left the world stripped, barren, and dying. Alone in a civilian bunker in Munich, Sealand will be reunited with the last known living member of his surrogate family and together, they will set out across what's left of Europe to find the remains of those they have lost.

Main characters are Sealand and Denmark but others will be making appearances. Contains/will contain graphic, grotesque imagery and violence, so look out.

I am seriously addicted to that fic now. I literally keep refreshing the Hetalia kink meme fills list just to see if it has been updated... punibuni and I kept discussing about how this apocalyptic story will end (pun not intended) and we both love Sealand and Denmark's characterisation here. ;3; Even if you're not a fan of those two, it still is definitely a must-read. I normally don't read "end of the world" stories ~~because I'm too scared~~ but I chose to pick up this one out of curiosity and... Man, I so do not regret doing that. It's just so awesome in so many levels ide...
