Sprites vs. files
Sprites
Sprites refers to the raw SVG data. When only using an SVG once, direct insertion is the most efficient. But you can still assign a class or an ID so styles can be managed in your stylesheet.
You can also store a list of sprites in one file for easy management and efficient reuse across multiple pages. Inline sprites and sprite sheets are more efficient than individual files, which is why these are the default.
Files
You can use the tab to download individual SVG files or set as ZIP files, with optional CSS included as per your choices in the settings.
How to use
Choose
Use the filters and search options to find the icons you want.
Style
Click on the paintbrush button to style your icons, and the settings button to fine tune your output.
Select
Sprites and files
Inline sprites and sprite files are generally a lot more efficient. But some users and tools work better with files. Use the switcher to change modes.
Individual
Click the copy/download button on individual icons to get just that one.
Selection
Click anywhere on the icons you want to select the icons you want, then click get selectedto download a custom sprite sheet or ZIP file.
Everything
Click get displayedto get a sprite sheet or zip file containing everything according to your current filters.
CSS styles
Click the CSS buttonto view and copy the suggested class-based CSS.
About this site
This website is static. The initial page view is approx 25 KB. On interaction, the rest is loaded - bringing the page size up to about 65 KB transferred, all in. That's the website, the icons themselves, and the JSON and JS files needed to work with them. Another web is possible.
