10:32 am - The most important self examination you'll ever take.
Do you consider yourself to be a good person?

Most people do. However, most of us differ as to the definition of "good." The Bible says that God is good, and the Ten Commandments are His standard of goodness. So, we will look at God's Law . . . With a tender conscience, ask yourself if you have obeyed the following:

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. (Have you always loved God above all else?)

2. You shall not make yourself an idol. (Have you made a god in your mind that you're more comfortable with, a god to suit yourself?)

3. You shall not take God's name in vain. (Have you ever used God's holy Name as a cuss word?) The bible says that "for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who uses His name in vain." Deuteronomy 5:11

4. Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.

5. Honor your father and mother.

6. You shall not murder. (God considers hatred to be as murder).

7. You shall not commit adultery. ("Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" ? Matthew 5:27-28; this also includes sex before marriage. Ephesians 5:3 says, "But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality) The bible says, "...no adulterer will enter the kingdom of heaven" (1 Corinthians 6:9,10)

8. You shall not steal. (Have you ever stolen anything? ? the value of the item is irrelevant).

9. You shall not lie. (Have you lied even once? Including answering these questions). The bible says, "all liars will have their part in the lake of fire" (Revelations 21:8)

10. You shall not covet. (Have you ever jealously desired what belongs to others?)

The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments?

Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. He would be a corrupt Judge if He turned a blind eye to injustice. Have you kept the Commandments?

The Bible says that the Law is perfect. It commands you to be perfect (Matthew 5:48). Are you perfect (in thought, word, and deed)? Will you make it to Heaven? You may say that you are still good, but God says you're not (see Psalm 14:2-3). So one of you is lying, and the Scriptures tell us that it is impossible for God to lie. Remember that all liars will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. Listen carefully if you want to live.

God Himself made a way where His justice and His goodness could meet. We broke the Law, but He became a man to pay the fine. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to satisfy the Law. God can forgive us and grant us the gift of everlasting life! But you may still think that you can (from now on) keep the Ten Commandments. But isn't it true that the best of us have lied, stolen, lusted, hated, failed to love God above all else, and failed to love our neighbor as ourselves?

How can we then, live a "good" life if we have already sinned against God? At best we are reformed liars and thieves . . . but still Lawbreakers. Think of it this way - would you sell one of your eyes for a million dollars? Would you sell both for $50 million? I'm sure you wouldn't. Your eyes are priceless, yet they are merely the windows of your soul. What then must your life (soul) be worth? With these thoughts in mind, what would be a fair price to pay for everlasting life? It is utterly without price. Yet, if we trust in our own goodness to enter Heaven, we are saying to God, "I should enter Heaven because I have done good - I have earned my way in."

Imagine if you wanted to give me a brand new (very expensive) car, but I said, "I can't take it! I feel embarrassed receiving such a gift . . . here's 10 cents for it." I'm sure you would be very insulted by such a pathetic offer of payment. Besides, if I pay for it, it is no longer a gift, it's a purchase . . . it's mine by right.

When we talk of entering Heaven by being good, by trying to keep the Ten Commandments etc., we are tossing God 10 cents of "self-righteousness," which is a terrible insult to Him, in the light of His sacrifice. The only thing we can do is humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and receive the gift by trusting Jesus Christ alone. Almighty God demonstrated how much He loves you when Jesus suffered for you on the cross. If you want to trust in your own goodness, then you are saying His agonizing death on the cross was in vain. The Bible says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." You cannot earn a gift.

When Jesus said to "believe" on Him, He was saying we should have faith in Him, in the same way you would trust a parachute to save you when you jump from a plane. You don't merely believe in the parachute - you put it on. Please don't "jump" without Jesus. If you die in your sins there is no second chance. God will give you justice, and you will end up in Hell forever. Any troubles you have at present are dwarfed by the trouble you are in with your Creator. His wrath abides upon you (John 3:36). God doesn't want you to go to Hell. Neither do you want to go there, so confess your sins to God right now, put your trust in Jesus to save you, and you will pass from death to life. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. (See John 14:21). Your obedience to God is the proof of your love. Have faith in God, He will never fail you.

Pray something like this:

"Dear God, today I turn away from all of my sins (name them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is 'The way, the truth, and the life.'" Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

What's up my little chillun?

QUICK NOTE: If we aren't friends on myspace yet, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. http://www.myspace.com/surferbill get to it! chop chop!

I am now a Kentuckyuckian. I really like it here....pics to come soon.

Our apartment is tight! Not only is it super nice inside, we have a balcony overlooking the tennis courts, and a park about 100 ft from our door.

We went hiking/camping at Red River Gorge over the weekend. We pitched out tent next to some river at the bottom of the gorge....really sweet spot. At about 1AM something that either was massive in size and/or had a massive penis peed right next to our tent and I almost wet myself...It literally sounded like someone was pouring out a bucket of water. So, I slept with my knife in my hand for the rest of the night. I heard some pretty crazy stuff...but luckily we didn't get eaten by a bear or tagged by a rattlesnake. I'd say that it was a successful trip. RRG is gorgeous though...I'll try and get some pics up soon..depends on how fat I look in them! ;)

S'all I got...maybe I'll start updating regularly! I remember when I used to get a bazillion comments and had more groupies than Motley Crue. Ah. those were the days.

You folks in Kentucky are going to have a new neighbor soon. I'm pretty scared, but excited. I feel its something that needs to be done in order to grow as a person and in my walk as a Christian.

So I'll spare the details of how I've gotten to this point for the time being, but I'll be in Louisville.

Oh yeah, hi by the way, its been a while! I've missed you guys.

12:00 am - open mouth, insert finger.
Man, the Vatican continues to absolutely nauseate me. Pope Benedict the "Insert insignificant number here" has now come out and said that non-believers in Jesus Christ can be saved too. This is a lie straight from the pit of hell. This is on par with the Vatican's idea that we need to pray to saints, because its not like we can pray to Jesus or anything...*rolls eyes*....and also that Mary is equal to Jesus. Give me a break. Some Catholics pray to Mary exclusively, and saints have been quoted throughout history saying Mary is the key to salvation. Okay, show me some scripture on that one. It saddens me to see this because so many believe the BS that is spoon fed to the nations from that place. Oh well, it all has to happen in order for God's plan to be fulfilled.

Thankfully there are many Roman Catholics who realize Jesus is the only way. Anyway, read the filfth below and be amazed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

VATICAN CITY, NOV. 30, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Whoever seeks peace and the good of the community with a pure conscience, and keeps alive the desire for the transcendent, will be saved even if he lacks biblical faith, says Benedict XVI.
The Pope made this affirmation today at the general audience, commenting on a meditation written by St. Augustine (354-430).

Augustine "knows that also among the inhabitants of Babylon there are people who are committed to peace and the good of the community, despite the fact that they do not share the biblical faith, that they do not know the hope of the Eternal City to which we aspire," Benedict XVI stated.

"And he says that among the persecutors, among the nonbelievers, there are people with this spark, with a kind of faith, of hope, in the measure that is possible for them in the circumstances in which they live," the Holy Father continued.

"With this faith in an unknown reality, they are really on the way to the authentic Jerusalem, to Christ," he clarified.

Continuing with his quotes from Augustine, the Pope added that "God will not allow them to perish with Babylon, having predestined them to be citizens of Jerusalem, on the condition, however, that, living in Babylon, they do not seek pride, outdated pomp and arrogance."

The Bishop of Rome concluded by inviting those present to pray to the Lord "that he will awaken in all of us this desire, this openness to God, and that those who do not know God may also be touched by his love, so that all of us journey together toward the definitive City and that the light of this City might also shine in our time and in our world."

11:40 pm - it's only a matter of time.
Yep. still alive. More than ever.

Call me crazy, but I've never felt like the end has been as close as it is now. I'm not really sure how to explain it, but my gut is wrenching lately, and I know many others who feel the same. To unbelievers this sounds absurd. Heck sometimes when my ego gets in the way it sounds absurd to me too. But man, the Lord is on the way...and He's coming for his people before the crap really hits the fan. I rarely get overly preachy, or at least I try not to...but I really feel there's no time to try and avoid ruffling feathers or coming across as a lunatic.

I've gotten to a point now where I don't care about the world anymore and what it has to offer. Sure, nice cars and houses are cool, but they are just going to rust and decay. I've always wanted a Range Rover, but man, if I never get one, I could really care less.

I used to want a wife and kids more than anything...and believe me, I would love to experience that, but I'd rather be taken up into heaven right now if I could without a doubt. I'm trying so hard to focus solely on the Lord and all things will be added unto me until He comes back. That goes for all believers. Keep your eyes set on Christ and you don't have a thing to worry about. Not. One. Thing.

Let's put it this way. God created the world in 6 days (7 including the day he rested). When Christ was resurrected he said he was going to heaven to prepare a place for us (a mansion with many dwellings) If this really amazingly beautiful world took only 6 days, how much more amazing will something be that took over 2000 years to create?!!

Here is an awesome Q&A about Heaven that should get your really excited: http://www.epm.org/articles/heavenqa.html

The reality of hell has also become more real to me as of late. Not that I'm going there, but its put in urgency in me to just spread the word to my friends and family. I had a dream last night that absolutely terrified me and effected me that I could feel it in my physical body as I was dreaming. I really felt I was being demonically attacked. I was so scared when I woke up I just prayed and refused to close my eyes for about an hour. This stuff is real...and if a dream can be so terrifying, hell is absolutely unimaginable horror. The devil knows his days are numbered, and hes trying to pull as many people off course with him. Imagine you're at a pool party and a group of people comes up and tries to throw you in the pool. You'll do whatever you can to pull whoever you can get your hands on in with you so you're not the only one "all wet" so to speak. It's the same deal here.

Being scared of what people think is so absurd and not even worth concern. If they think you're crazy, SO WHAT. I honestly believe that when we get to heaven we'll open our eyes and our time on earth is going to seem like a blurred vision or dream. The world isn't what's really real...the bad things of this world are the greatest illusion ever pulled off which is why so many are screwed.

If you're not a Christian, and refuse to accept the FREE gift of salvation (FREE FOR THE ASKING)...I seriously mourn for your soul and it troubles me greatly. Your New Age won't save you, buddhism won't save you, being "spiritual" or believing in "some eternal force" won't save you. JESUS LOVES YOU in an immeasurable amount. People send themselves to hell, not Him. Change your life (now and eternally) right now.

Is there any reason why you can't make Jesus the Lord of your life right now?
Say this prayer out-loud (and mean it in your heart):

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe He died for me on the Cross of Calvary, bearing my sins for me. I believe that He rose from the dead and is alive right now. Dear Lord Jesus, come into my life, now! Come into my heart now. I believe in my heart. Therefore I say with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior. And I am right now, born again.

As always, I'm here for you, and I'm sure many of my friends on here would love to help out anyone who needs it. you can IM me at illrockerbill, email me at surferbill15@hotmail.com , or if you want my phone number, just ask.

So when I get in a particular sappy mood and get bummed how I can't find any nice Christian women around here, I hop on the computer and look at personal ads of Christian women. It's a little sad, but it gives me some hope. Anyway, I did this tonight, and I quite possibly have found the woman of my absolute dreams.

Age: 21
Occupation: Dental Assistant

Description: I am a follower of Christ and am here to do his will. I am satisfied in Him, but if he places someone who loves the Lord and desires to worship him, then I will love him with everything I have. I work in Jr. High ministry, and love kids. I enjoy cooking for others, hiking, running, outdoor sports, indoor relaxing, going/renting movies, eating healthy, and making others smile:) I hope to one day run a marathon and do some type of missionary work. I want to travel with my husband, and to one day be a guiding mom and loving and serving wife:)

And she lives in California.

Don't they all.

grrrrrrr.

Hey, first off, thanks for all the awesome replies on my last entry...which was uh...a while ago. I WILL be replying to them so just sit tight. I feel like a douche for not replying right away. I'll try to not let so much time go in between again.

Anyway quick news update:

Although I got to participate in the graduation ceremony for graduate school in May, I still needed to take 2 classes to fulfill my requirements. Luckily they were online, and they're done. So I officially have my Master's degree. I'm proud to say that out of the 12 courses I had to take I got 10 A's and 2 A-'s, giving me a solid 3.94 gpa. Honestly, it was a cakewalk, but I'm still proud of myself.

I'll be 23 this Monday, August 15th. Would like a ton of birthday smooches from all you hotties ;) Come visit!

I'm starting to look for a job...ugh. The real world is something I'm not looking all that forward to.

I put Sirius satellite radio in my car and IT. IS. THE. BALLS. highly recommended.

I think that's all I got.

Anyway, I've been trying to catch up on some of your entries and commented where applicable. Anyway, whats up with you guys?

9:44 pm - Bible/God question
Okay heres a question I've been struggling with for a while now...

Basically, when I finally get a career going, I want to make good money and be able to afford a nice house, be able to go on vacations with my family, get a boat, etc. I'm not saying I need to drive $80,000 cars or have a mansion...just nice things and be comfortable. I don't want to have to bust my ass for the rest of my life and not have time to enjoy it. So my question is...is it wrong to feel that way?

I've heard many preachers and Christians say that God wants you to be blessed financially and have a nice house and whatnot. I mean, what parent wouldn't want that for their kids? As long as its not your #1 priority in life and you help others, I dont see what the problem is.

Yet in Mark 4:18 it says "The thorny ground represents those who hear and accept the Good News, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for nice things, so no crop is produced."

I also remember reading other things to the effect that desiring nice things and wealth is very wrong.

So please...share your insight.

4:50 pm - prayer request
hey guys,

if you wouldn't mind taking a sec out of your time to pray for my mom id appreciate it. She's had an intense migraine all day and has been on the couch since this morning. She's really sore too from throwing up and whatnot. She's about less than 110 lbs soaking wet as it is, so her tiny self takes a beating easily.

Thanks in advance, much appreciated

If your bathroom mirror is steamed up after you get out of a hot shower, and you are in a rush to use the mirror (for hair styling or whatever), you can aim your hairdryer turned on warm/hot at the foggy mirror and instantly it will be clear again!

7:52 pm - drumroll...
So we all know I come and go on here. Out of the blue I'll post an entry then I'll be gone for a few weeks. Anyway, as of late, there's been a good reason for it. I've left LJ land in ventured out into my own thing. Basically I'm running a blog on my own domain, complete with comments, archives, etc. Very much like LJ but I'm in complete control of the design and how everything works. Designing it took me forever, but I wanted to give it a unique look from all the other blogs out there. Anyway Thanks to WordPress (http://www.wordpress.org) for making it possible.

BUT, don't freak, I'm not leaving LJ. This is more of a creative thing, and my entries are still humorous (usually) and is about random things, or cool things I find on the net, or this or that or whatever.

So yeah, I've worked my ass of on this thing and I'm still fine tuning it, so please check it out, bookmark it etc. I update at least a few times a week (i.e. way more than on here). Leave lots of comments on there for me! :)

the address is http://www.grooveconcepts.com

P.S. site best viewed in FireFox. Internet Explorer sucks, get yourself a real browser that is more SECURE and WORKS PROPERLY. Trust me on this one. People are switching over in droves...don't get left behind!

almostfam0us I've got mad love for Bryanna. I've known her for like 2 years and she is seriously one of the coolest, most caring girls I know. She is a very strong person with a ton of faith, and that sure doesn't go unnoticed. She lives in Las Vegas and as far as I'm concerned, that kicks ass. But really, shes a super loyal loving person and has a great smile and awesome cheeks to boot hehe :D

Dear Friends,

Here's and idea I came up with at 4:30am this morning, when I should have been..hm I don't know, sleeping or something.

I am going to go through all 150 or whatever friends I have on here, and spurt a little blurb each day (or at least try to do it each day) until I've written about most of ya. (most meaning, if you havent updated in the past month, im going to skip by you since you probably won't see it anyway. If I do skip you and you do see this, feel free to bitch and ill make it up to you).

But basically I will just say what makes you cool or interesting to me and why I like you. I figured it'd be a nice thing to do since I've known a lot of you for some years now...and heck if I can brighten someone's day I'm all for it. Not to mention I'm know to come and go at random on here, and I don't comment as often as I should. Consider this pennance...or something ;).

Anyway, to get this party started, we're going to have 3 people today. I'm going in order, so if your lj name begins with a U, we'll see you in a few weeks :).

NOTE: There are some of you on my friends list that I really don't know at all, so I don't really know what to say about you. So if we havent talked, drop me a line, lets get to know eachother :).

Without further delay, here are today's--

Today's Featured Friends

dont_floataway Erica is a little nuts (in a good way) and she swears too much... eerily similar to myself actually (hey i'm working on it). She's got an attitude, a sarcastic sense of humor, shes a Red Sox fan and hails from the great state of Rhode Island. Even though she can be sarcastic and whatnot, shes got a good heart and its obvious shes a loyal and caring person. She's a big fan of the O.C. and well..I'm a big fan of the girls on the O.C.

_introspection I've known Madison on here since...man I don't even know...but it's be a long time! She always leaves good comments and writes long, usually somewhat deep entries that are good reads. She's the type of person who is a deep thinker and wears her heart on her sleeve. She says it like it is and is open and honest about both the good and the bad. Oh, and I wish I was as tall as her. Lucky biotch. ;)

abstractbeauty I really can't say enough about Marianne. She's a very creative and talented photographer, shes insanely pretty, has a huge heart, is passionate about what she does, and overall just a really sweet person. She is also a strong Christian to boot. Why can't they make all girls like this?! But yeah, Mari rocks hard. I'm against human cloning, but I think the world could use a few more of her :D

2:48 am - Matisyahu
I just started listening to this dude called Matisyahu. Mind blowing. Here's the deal. He's a hasidic Jew convert, but sings reggae. You really can't make this stuff up.

Let me tell you, this stuff is some of the best reggae I have EVER heard..and I listen to a good amount of it. It's really solid music, awesome God-inspired lyrics...its just..man its a unique sound is all I can say. Very Old-Testament inspired, no surprise there.

If you like reggae even a little bit, I guarantee you will like this.

All I have to say is WOW. For real.

"King without A Crown" is my fav song I think so far.

Jah mon!

"You're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me

You're the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee

Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through till midnight
Said, thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might..."
