If you are not sure about the compatibility of plugins with the new version of WordPress, it is better to reactivate one plugin at a time and check if it works properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"errors-after-update\">Errors after update<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After updating, it is possible to run into errors, the most common of which are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>WordPress gets stuck in maintenance mode<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CMS is still reported to be in the process of being updated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s see what to do when one of these two problems occurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"word-press-stuck-in-maintenance-mode\">WordPress stuck in maintenance mode<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When updating the core, but also when updating themes and plugins, WordPress goes into <a href=\"https:\/\/supporthost.com\/wordpress-maintenance-mode\/\">maintenance mode<\/a> automatically. As soon as the update is finished, the mode is automatically deactivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, in some cases it may happen that the update stops and the site gets stuck in <strong>maintenance<\/strong> mode. In this case, by accessing the <em>Updates<\/em> section from the bulletin board we will see a notice like the one shown below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"868\" height=\"312\" src=\"https:\/\/supporthost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/update-wordpress-dashboard-warning.png\" alt=\"Update WordPress Dashboard Warning\" class=\"wp-image-27378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/supporthost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/update-wordpress-dashboard-warning.png 868w, https:\/\/supporthost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/update-wordpress-dashboard-warning-300x108.png 300w, https:\/\/supporthost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/update-wordpress-dashboard-warning-768x276.png 768w, https:\/\/supporthost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/update-wordpress-dashboard-warning-120x43.png 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 868px) 100vw, 868px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This alert tells us that &#8220;Another update is currently in progress.&#8221; WordPress uses a system to prevent multiple updates from happening at the same time. When an update starts, a row is created in the database to set a time out (typically <em>15 minutes<\/em>) during which no new updates can be started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If, however, even after the time for updating has elapsed, the warning continues to appear, you can go and remove the row that was created in the database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">Keep in mind that before making changes to the database, it is always recommended to make a backup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We access the database with phpMyAdmin and open the <em>wp_options<\/em> table. Within this table we need to locate the row where &#8220;core_updater.lock&#8221; appears in the <em>option_name<\/em> column.
