User settings make it easy for you to create a login account for each member on your team based on their roles and responsibilities. This is the only way you can properly track and manage what people are allowed to do and assign them specific responsibilities based on their roles.
Towbook offers unlimited user accounts for every plan and every employee in your company should have their own user account, in order to facilitate security and accountability.
To add a new user, select the “Add a New User” button.
Here, you can add their full name and choose a username and password. Now, you’ll select the type of user. Each user type has access to different permission levels. Managers can see everything in your system. Dispatchers can perform duties in the ‘Dispatching’ and ‘Impounds’ tab. If you’d like to customize this to allow dispatchers to perform billing or reporting functions, please contact our support team. Drivers can only see and work the calls that are assigned to them. If you’d like to customize driver permissions, we have many options available; please contact our team to view those options. Accountants are limited to performing operations relating to accounting or billing.
Regardless of which user type you’re adding, you’ll need to add their email and phone number so they can be notified that they’ve been added to your company’s Towbook account.
Notice two options at the bottom. If you’d like to disable a user, simply click on their username and select this option to disable them. In addition to this, you’ll see an option to require GPS to be turned on in order to update calls; this is an option that many companies choose for driver user types.
Once you click “Save Changes”, then select the recently created user, near the top of their profile, you’ll notice an option to add a Profile Photo. Managers can add or delete a user’s profile photo in the web app, but all user types can upload and change their profile pictures on our mobile app at any time.
Once you’ve added a profile picture or updated any information, be sure to click “Save Changes” once again, when finished.
