The Stickering feature lets you create a virtual sticker in Towbook to mark vehicles you may want to tow in the future, after a specific waiting period. If you work with private properties, this is a great way to “tag” and keep track of vehicles that may be eligible for a tow.
Company-Wide Stickering Setup
Before the stickering option can be utilized, you’ll need to configure your company-wide preferences in your Towbook account.
In the web app:
- Click on the ‘Settings’ tab
- Under the ‘Property Management’ tab, choose ‘Stickers’
Next, choose whether each sticker will need manager approval, enter your standard wait time, select the expiration period after the initial wait time, allow or disallow sticker extensions, and choose how you’d like to communicate stickering activity to property managers.
Be sure to click ‘Save Options’ at the bottom once you’re finished.
Next, click on ‘Sticker Reasons’ under the Property Management submenu to add any additional reasons for stickering a vehicle beyond the default options.
Adding a new reason is simple!
Click the “Add New Reason” button and enter your Reason Name and Description, then click “Save”.
Once you’ve created a custom reason, you’ll be able to modify it at any time by clicking on ‘Modify’. Feel free to change any details here, or, if this reason is no longer valid for your company, mark it as inactive.
Please note that default reasons in the system cannot be edited or deleted at this time.
Account-Based Stickering Options
Once you have your standard, company-wide preferences in place, you can now customize any private property account type on a per-account basis, if their options differ from your standard procedures.
Click on any private property account type in your system.
Click, ‘Modify Account’ and select the box to ‘Enable Stickering’; you’ll see a ‘Stickering’ tab populate at the top of the page.
In the account ‘Stickering’ tab, you can further customize approvals, extensions, wait time, and more for this specific account. You can also choose which stickering reasons pertain to this account, change the amount of wait time, and choose when the wait time begins.
Stickering Tab
Notice that once ‘Stickering’ is enabled in your account, you have an entirely new tab available along the navigation bar at the top.
Here, you can add, monitor, and modify stickers.
On the side menu, all stickers will be broken down by status. You can click on any sticker to see additional details, modify the sticker, approve or resolve it, add photos, or simply delete it.
Any stickers that need to be approved by a manager will be in the ‘Needs Approval’ bucket.
Simply click on the sticker that needs approval, review all of the information, and click ‘Approve’ when you’re ready.
Once a sticker is ‘Waiting’ and approved, you’ll notice on the right side that Towbook lets you know when the vehicle will be moved to ‘Towable’ status.
To add a new sticker on the web app, click on the ‘New Sticker’ option. Enter the account, license plate, VIN, vehicle manufacturer information, add any notes, and choose a stickering reason at the bottom. You’re able to add multiple stickering reasons, if needed.
Once all of your information is added, click ‘Create Sticker’.
You also have the option to find a sticker using the “Search for a sticker” option, or view all stickers associated with any account by choosing the “Select an account” filter.
Mobile App Stickers
Our recommended “best practice” is to add new stickers using the Towbook mobile app.
To add a new sticker on the mobile app, select the menu icon.
Then select the “Stickers” option.
You can add a new sticker by selecting the “plus” icon near the bottom right.
Enter the vehicle details, add any necessary photos, then click “done”.
Once a sticker is created, it will move to the ‘Waiting’ queue for a manager’s approval, if your company requires stickering approvals.
Once the wait period is complete, the sticker will move to the “Towable” queue where it can be “converted to a call” and dispatched to one of your drivers.
If the vehicle is no longer towable, be sure to use the option to resolve the sticker or delete it entirely if you don’t need a record of it in the future.
