ERROR MSG: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."

Problem:

The following error is received while installing EzParts Electronic Parts Catalog Software:

"Timeout Expired: The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."

Cause:

Installation of SQL Server failed and displayed an error message to the user. The user clicked next / or clicked continue. Since the previous step failed and MSSQL was not installed properly the database could not be installed, so you received this error message. What was the error message that was returned by the MSSQL install (Prior to this error being displayed)

Solution:

re-install SQL Server.
