How to Use macOS Apps

Here's how to use the MillenVPN/macOS app.

(1) After obtaining the installer, move MillenVPN to the Applications folder in the following screen.

(2) Click on MillenVPN in the application.

(iii) Click to run MillenVPN and a pop-up will appear.
Please check the contents and click "Open".

(4) MillenVPN application has been launched.

(5) Change the connection point.　Click [Server List].

(6) Please select the desired connection point.
*If you select the fastest server, the country with the fastest transmission speed is automatically selected.
Favorite function
　If you click on the star to the left of a server, the corresponding server will appear at the top the next time you open the server list.

(vii) The following extension pop-up may appear when you click on the server.
*In the latest version, the default protocol is WireGuard and the following settings are required.

For OpenVPN, the following screen will appear.
[Click "Allow.

If other than OpenVPN, the VPN Configuration Permissions screen will appear.
[Click "Allow.

(8) When the following screen is displayed, the connection is complete.
The country and global IP address of the connection destination are displayed.

Clicking the MillenVPN icon displayed in the upper-left corner of your computer screen will display various menus.

Settings Item: System Startup

Automatic application launch for MillenVPN apps when logging into a Mac.
⇒If set to ON, the application will automatically launch when you log in to your Mac.

Hides the application window when the application is launched.
⇒When set to ON, the application window will be hidden when the application is launched.

Setting item: At startup

・Do not connect automatically (default setting)
　⇒The MillenVPN app will not establish a VPN connection upon launch.

・Connect to the last server you connected to
　⇒When you launch the MillenVPN app, it connects to the VPN using the last server you connected to.

・Connect to the fastest server
　⇒Upon launching the MillenVPN app, it automatically selects the server with the fastest connection and establishes a VPN connection.

・Connect to the fastest server in the selected country
　⇒Automatically selects the fastest server within the countries you choose in the settings screen and connects to the VPN.

Setting item: Security

kill switch
Enabling this prevents communication using your real IP address if the VPN connection is disconnected.

on demand
⇒When set to ON, the VPN connection will remain active even after closing the Millen VPN app.

Setting: Hide at startup
⇒When set to ON, the window will be hidden when the MillenVPN app launches.

Configuration > Protocol

You can modify the protocol.

・WireGuard
⇒Provides extremely fast VPN service.
　This feature is unavailable on networks where UDP is not supported.

・IKEv2 (Recommended setting)
⇒ It provides high stability and security with an extremely fast protocol.
　This feature may not be available on some platforms.

・IPSec
Provides stable security through widely used protocols.
　This feature may not be available on some platforms.

・OpenVPN
⇒Provides the highest level of security.
　Due to enhanced security, it may be slower than other protocols.
　Even when other protocols cannot be used due to firewall restrictions,
　OpenVPN may be available.

＜OpenVPN設定＞
OpenVPN Driver
⇒This is the setting of the "Connection Aids" to correctly link the Mac and MillenVPN when using OpenVPN.
　Normally, this is set automatically during installation, but the following buttons are used in case of connection problems.

　Repair: Reinstall the connection aids, try if you can no longer connect via OpenVPN.
　Uninstallation: Remove the connection assistance tool.
　Repair DNS: Reset DNS settings; try this if your website no longer appears during or after a VPN connection.

Settings > Split Tunneling

⇒A domain or an Internet connection that is not protected by a VPN connection during a VPN connection,

⇒Update server information. This feature is for when servers are not displayed.

Hide

⇒Hide the MillenVPN app window.
　You can display it again by clicking the window app icon.

⇒Hide all windows except the MillenVPN app.

Show all

⇒ This option is enabled only when "Hide Other Windows" is selected.
　Display other windows besides the MillenVPN app.

Logout

⇒ Log out of the app.
