Embed code is code that is generated by a third-party website such as YouTube or Vimeo, that a user can copy and paste into his or her own webpage. Here are few ways to get an embed code for your website and/or for your featured video section on your Homepage:

Get Embed Code via Media Library

Unfortunately, your site’s Media Library currently does not provide an Embed Code, only a URL code. But don’t worry, there are many free sites online that generate an Embed code from any URL link you have. In this case, we will be using a thirdparty website called FrontEnd Resource’s Iframe Generator to generate the code we need. This guide will walk you through of the process.

  1. First we need to obtain our media’s URL link. From the ‘Media‘ menu on the left-hand side of the Dashboard, select the ‘Library‘ option to bring up the your ‘Media Library‘ screen.
  2. On the top bar, click the box ‘All media items‘ and select Video. This will pull up all of your current videos in the Media Library

3. Click on a Video you would like to use. If you do not see your video in the Media Library, you can drag and drop a video from your desktop into the library.
4. When you click on the video, a screen will pop up for you to preview the video along with some details about the video on the right. Locate the ‘File URL:‘ on the right and select Copy URL to clipboard

 

5.  Now that we have our media’s URL link we need to generate the iframe code which can be used to embed your website. Click on this link to go to the iFrame Generator: https://frontendresource.com/iframe-generator/

6. Paste your video’s URL code in the ‘iFrame URL:‘ box. Then, in the ‘iFrame Name:‘ box, type the title of your video.

7. Now select ‘Generate My code‘

Viola! Now you have an iFrame code that you can copy and paste into your site or to paste in the Featured Video section of your Homepage.

 

Embed Code via YouTube

  1. Go to YouTube.
  2. Navigate to the video you wish to embed.
  3. Click the Share link below the video, then click the Embed link.
  4. The embed link will be highlighted in blue. You will need to copy this link in order to add it to your site or to paste in the Featured Video section of your Homepage.

Embed Link via Vimeo

  1. Go to Vimeo.com
  2. Navigate to the video you wish to embed.
  3. Click the Share button, in the top right corner of your video.
  4. A pop-up will appear with the embed link information. You will need to copy this link in order to add it to your site or to paste in the Featured Video section of your Homepage.
