Voice-over in Google Ads is a free, easy way to add high-quality, lifelike text-to-speech voice-over in Google Ads Asset Library, for existing video advertisers.
This article explains how to add voice-over to a Video campaign.
Add voice-over to a Video campaign
- Go to Asset studio within the Tools icon

- Select Asset library.
- Select the blue + Create new button, then select Video.
- Select + Create video
- Select Add voice-over. In the “What’s your objective” section, you can choose:
- Enhance an existing video by adding voice-over (Add language, voice type, volume and voice-over messages to your video).
- Create a new audio ad with voice-over (Create audio ad with voice-over, images and stock music in just a few steps).
- Select Continue.

In the “Create audio ad” section, choose audio ad duration under “Audio ad duration” section.
- Non-skippable (6-15 seconds)
- Skippable (15-30 seconds)
- Custom (6-30 seconds)
- You can also add Image (Optional) and Music (Optional).
- Under the “Voice-over” section, you can select a language, voice, and voice-over volume.
- Note that the voice-over volume is set to 100% by default.
- Under the “Voice-over messages” section, enter your voice-over message. You can add up to 5 voice-overs. Each voice-over message can have up to 150 characters. For each new voice-over, select + Add Message.
- You can set the start times of the messages in the video. Your voice-over messages can’t overlap, so your next voice-over will begin only when the current one ends.
- You can preview the generated video with voice-over by selecting Load preview. Note that the preview will take a few minutes to load.
- When you're satisfied with the voice-over and message, select Create video.
- Enter a title for your voice-over video. We also auto-generate a name for the video.
- Select Upload video to upload the video to a YouTube channel.
- To complete setting up your video, refer to Create a video using asset library (steps 11-13).
