Faculty Instructions for Submitting a SuperUROP Project (please change "eecs" to your dept where appropriate!)
This website is mostly updated for 2026-2027.
Please let us know if you have questions! Thanks!
Students:
At this time the EECS Department has confirmed that they will participate in the SuperUROP Program and provide funding to most of their students working with EECS faculty. If you, an EECS student, are choosing a supervisor in another department, you may need to have a co-supervisor on the EECS faculty, to facilitate your eligibility for funding.
At this time the AeroAstro, MechE, the CEE, and the ChemE Departments have confirmed that they will participate in the SuperUROP Program and provide funding to a limited number of their students.
Please note that the ChemE deadlines are later: Monday June 1 for intent and Monday June 22 for proposal.
The MIT option is for students who are not in the listed departments. In this case,
it is unlikely that there will be departmental SuperUROP funding. There is possibly funding from your
supervisor (at a rate you negotiate with your supervisor) or from the UROP office (at below the SuperUROP rate) or you can earn credit for the research component.
All students are eligible to apply for funding from HEALS and MGAIC.
Please click on the appropriate department below to get started.
The deadline for intent is Friday, April 3rd. (for most departments)
Did you miss the deadline for intent? It's not too late! Please go ahead and submit your intent!
Need some clues for finding a project or a supervisor? check out prior SuperUROP projects at
SuperUROP Scholars
The deadline for the proposal is Monday, April 27th. (for most departments)
