FIELDS
FIELDS examined the lives, stories and experiences of British sheep, cows and farmers from 1947 to the present day. A public outreach component of a four year research project funded by the Wellcome Trust, the programme worked with archival and museum collections and invited audiences to think about their lives lived alongside livestock and farming practice across different regions of the UK.
We worked with a partnership of six institutions led by the University of Lincoln to create a brand with enough flexibility to compliment a broad range of media from photographic, film and audio archives, as well as academic and artist research text. The vibrant palette and bold graphic application intentionally stood apart from comparable peer-led programmes and was brought to life across a series of national film screenings, exhibitions and pop ups which engaged urban and rural communities alike.
Key deliverables included a full colour printed newspaper, folded programme, collectable set of beermats, life size cut out animals, large format exhibition panels, and a story-driven programme website with custom theme built on the Shorthand platform.
