I'm not sure if I'd like to go around my entire life being called 'Apple' but, whatever floats your boat. I suppose if Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter dislikes her name that much, she can always change it at some point.

Reminds me of some people who named their son, 'Early Morning Thunder'. The couple lived in a small village close to my hometown which had basically been taken over by a bunch of late 70's and '80's highschool graduates who were living a '60's kind of lifestyle. I gather it was early in the morning, and thundering when the child was born so.... you got it.

Using that theory, Gwyneth must have just eaten an apple prior to giving birth.

Anyhoo... the furry monster woke me up around 7:45. Furry face rubbing against mine, giving me her morning 'meow' along with a loud purr. Normally, if I say "No, go back to sleep" she does but, her food trough needed replenishing so, she wasn't falling for that trick.

There's a large collection of fur stuck to the side of one of my planters. The varmint likes to rub up against EVERYTHING.

I really need some caffeine. In.a.big.way.

Andale.

I normally skip over any lyric posts cause, that's the way I am. Unfortunately, I referenced this song in a friend's journal, and now I can't stop humming the stupid thing. Since misery likes company perhaps, I can hook a few of you as well ;)

Lyrics for David Cassidy - I Think I Love You

Ba, ba, ba, ba.
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba.
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba.

I'm sleeping
And right in the middle of a good dream
Like all at once I wake up
From something that keeps knockin' at my brain.
Before I go insane I hold my pillow to my head
And spring up in my bed
Screaming out the words I dread:
"I think I love you!"

This morning
I woke up with this feeling
I didn't know how to deal with
And so I just decided to myself
I'd hide it to myself and never talk about it
And didn't I go and shout it
When you walked into my room.
"I think I love you!"

I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for.

I think I love you.
Isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
I've never felt this way.

I don't know what I'm up against.
I don't know what it's all about.
I got so much to think about.

Hey, I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for.

I think I love you.
Isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
I've never felt this way.

Believe me,
You really don't have to worry.
I only want to make you happy
And if you say,
"Hey, go away," I will, but I think better stay,
I'd better stay around and love you.
Do you think I have a case?
Let me ask you to your face:
Do you think you love me?

I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.
Oh, I think I love you.

Hope I got a few of you. If I gotta hum this flippen song all day, you can too ;)

After being fed, she went through her morning routine of using her litter box, covering her business, getting out of such, and proceeding to cover up the hardwood floor with the same type of pawing motions. True to form, she sashayed over to her trough, and went through the motions of covering the kitchen linoleum with paw air strokes as well.

Exhausted from the exercise, she wandered back into the bedroom, curled up on the bed, and went back to sleep.

I think not ;)

I proceeded to prod her with my forefinger telling her she wasn't going to sleep if she'd woken me up. I received several blank stares from the one eye she opened. Never willing to give up easily, I prodded her with my finger several more times.

She bit my finger.....lol

I'm awake, drinking coffee, and my cat is sleeping in the bedroom.

I need to tidy up around here, get some fresh air for a bit, and study today.

Next.

I was scanning Ebay's Lawn & Garden section, and found pages, and pages of 'garden flags'. Lots of prints to choose from. Yuck. Decided to filter the items to reflect 'Canada only' which got rid of the flags. Unfortunately, Canadians appear to have a love for 'Garden Gnomes'. I can't stand lawn ornaments. I think I've seen too many pink flamingoes, old tires, canoes, and bathroom fixtures planted in people's front yards. Gotta love those toilets filled with daisies ;)

My darling sweet cat turned into an 'attack cat' tonight. She grabbed my hand, started kicking it with her hind feet, and chowing down on the soft fleshy part. I think it means she's feeling affectionate or something. Then again, who really knows what's going on in a cat's brain?

I have a ton of stuff to accomplish this weekend. No doubt, I'll write about it later ;)

This morning my brain kept telling me I should take a sick day. Did I listen? Nooooooooo. Worst flippen day I've had in a number of years. Not.going.there.

Anyway. Good week for the Milliemeister.

While my Millie has a terribly sweet personality, loves being pet, she's been fairly timid. In fact, she hasn't liked being held, or spent much time on my lap. That all changed on Wednesday when I picked her up, she relaxed on my arm, and I walked around the apartment with her until my arm started to get tired. As well, out of the blue, she jumped up on my lap the same night, and spent a fair amount of time just laying there. Pretty good huh?

Wednesday morning, she also went out on the balcony and checked things out. Big change from the previous excursion.

Monday morning when I was getting ready for work, she periodically hid under the bed. I'm not sure but, I think she might have thought I was taking her somewhere. Tuesday, she didn't hide but, she looked as if she would run at any moment. Wednesday? She was out and about, talking to me, and no problems. Same with today... no apparent fear.

Tonight when I got home, she was waiting for me. Someone said I would likely establish a routine with her, and the routine appears to be.... from the moment I enter the apartment... she wants attention. Lots of attention. She talks away to me, rubs up against everything, climbs all over me, and I pet her tons.

I'm enjoying my Millie. I'm so glad I got her.

Tonight, I have a few dishes to wash, plants to water, and studying.

I'm home to study for the afternoon.

Okay... so, Millie goes and uses her cat litter box, finishes, and studiously covers everything. She then gets out of the box, and makes the same pawing motions on my hardwood floor. Then... she goes to get some food from her dish, and makes the same motions on the floor over there.

What is up with THAT? rofl

Okay.... so she amuses me.

I'm female, I'm allowed to change my mind....

Lord, that was a day. There's Mondays, and then there's Mondays.

Ran an errand after work, and came home. I was expecting major enthusiasm from my new family member upon my arrival but, she looked to have been woke from a coma, and it took several minutes for her to get her faculties. Then.... I got enthusiasm. She likes to talk in little meows, and sounds which resemble 'clicks'. She also loves to rub up against you. Actually, when she's in her mood to rub, she'll rub up against anything. The walls, doorways, loveseat, plants... whatever... she's not picky. Cute little gal. First entire 'work' day she's been by herself, and everything appeared to be fine. Big dent in the blanket on the end of the bed, food munched upon, and new turds in her box. Aaaaah, a cat's life. Sleep, eat, and poop.

This week will be busier than the norm. In addition to the regular, I have a team meeting, head office conference call, and a 'lunch & learn' with one of the law firms. Also, need to motor on my course. Went over the entire schedule, work I've completed, work yet to be completed with the 'Fearless Leader', and he seemed satisfied.

I've changed my furry monster's name to 'Millie'. 'Georgette' (aka George) just wasn't working. I constantly had visions of our former lobby cat whenever I called her that. 'George' loved to bite, attack your hands or ankles, and had a *look* which could melt sheet metal if he so desired. 'Millie' isn't like that. She's just sweet. It's an all together different experience having her than my previous male cats.

It's time to go dive under the flannel.

Episodes of 'Are you being served?' come to mind....

We have a winner! She went out on the balcony! Unfortunately, upon looking over the side and down 8 floors to the ground, her eyes became round like saucers, and she slowly slinked back inside...rofl She'll catch on to it in time. It doesn't hurt for her to have a healthy fear/respect for the height.

She woke me up around 8 am by rubbing her furry face in mine. No doubt, the activity of eating, being pet, going out on the balcony, and checking the view from the bedroom window exhausted her. She's back napping on the end of my bed again. She seems content.

Right. First, I need to have a shower, run the garbage out, wash the dishes, and the glass balcony doors and bedroom window. I'm also taking a bunch of clothes to the dumpster for whichever street person wants them. Didn't study last night. Just spent most of the evening petting the furry monster.

*I'm being very careful not to refer to 'George' as 'my pussy'. Could you tell?

Andale.

Oooooh... isn't that cute.... She just used her kitty litter box ;)

I wonder how long these things will stay cute to me....rofl

I was laying the tub this afternoon, enjoying the warmth of the water when George jumped up on the side. She rubbed her lovely dry furry face in my wet one. Pffffftttt ;)

Productive day. Swept, and washed the floors, did two loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom, swept off the balcony (moved all the planters, and re-arranged the table & chairs), tidied up the attrocity called my desk, dropped off my drycleaning, dropped off my used books, and picked up some groceries. Still need to wash the windows, and do the dishes.

My faithful varmint and I had a nap on the bed this afternoon. In fact, my faithful varmint is still laying on the end of the bed. I think she's catching on the fact when I leave the apartment, I come back! I could hear her soft meow at the door the first half dozen times I left (doing the laundry, etc.) and she was all over me when I came back but, things have settled down. She hasn't been meowing when I leave now, she comes to the door when I arrive, rubs up against me, I pet her, and that's that.

She's been checking out the balcony but, hasn't ventured forth.

I need to do some studying tonight.

I'm a cat owner! The ladies brought the furry varmint down to see me this morning. They also brought along a cat carrier, kitty litter box, litter, and some food. Pretty nice huh? I asked them how much they wanted for all of the stuff, and they said nothing. They just wanted the cat to have a good home. The one lady starting crying when she left because she was happy Georgette had a good home.

Apparently, George was at the SPCA, was adopted by this lady and her hubby as a gift to her friend's boyfriend. Alas, the couple broke up, the boy no longer wanted the cat, and plunked it off at their house. Since they already have 3 cats they couldn't keep her. (I think I've got the story right)

Here is a different picture of my cat, George.

She's currently laying on the floor in the bedroom. Scratch that, she's currently walking around sniffing things. Oh wait... she's eating from her bowl. She's much more interactive than my previous male cats have been. She has a tiny meow, and likes to talk to you. She also follows me around, and rubs up agaist me quite a bit. I'm attempting to ignore her somewhat, and let her do her thing. It's not really working since she keeps coming over to see me.

Who actually trains their cat? They train you ;)

If you require sleep, I wouldn't recommend this neighbourhood ;)

Firecrackers sounding like *bombs* went off around 11 pm. No worries, it didn't last long, and I went back to sleep.

Woke up around 12:30 am to the sound of yelling in the backlane directly below my window. The volume was such that my earplugs wouldn't have made a dent in the noise so, I got up to see the action. Actually, see would be the wrong description to use since the hydro was out in the block. The yelling was coming from the maintenance personnel fixing the problem. One man was up in a hydraulic box near the transformers (yelling his instructions down) to the other on the ground. Under the circumstances, I didn't feel it prudent to tell them to "SHUT UP" ;)

I lead such an interesting life ;)

I might be getting a cat tomorrow. Here's a pic of her. Supposedly, she's about 5 years old, and a real sweetie.

Busy weekend in store. I have a ton of housework, laundy, and studying to do.

I may also have to make a mad dash to the store to pick up 'cat essentials' if I get the furry monster. She looks sweet.

Super hungry today for some reason.

Yesterday, the boss suggested 3 more courses to my existing program so, I registered for such. Today, I asked the boss if there was any particular reason why I was attending the May classroom versus the following one in August or September. He said 'no', I wasn't on the "official training program", there was no rush to place me in the field, and suggested I may wish to attend the later classroom. That certainly takes a huge amount of stress off me by staggering the courses over a longer period of time. I can certainly never say the man isn't willing to train me. The question is.... am I trainable? rofl

It rained this morning, the sun came out in the afternoon, and it's overcast now. My crocuses are attempting to bloom.

This morning I rolled out of bed before 9 am, and tromped off to $tarbucks for coffee and a zuchini muffin.

On the way home, I purchased some sprouting crocuses, tulips, and some flowers which resemble pansies in their shape but appear a bit hardier. Transplanted them to some large terra cotta planters on the balcony. Combined with the daffodils, and the flowers low_delta sent me, my balcony will look great when everything starts flowering. I piddled around out there turning over soil, ripping out dead plants which froze during our week of snow, and felt quite content with the appearance of such, when I'd finished. I find it a most relaxing hobby. I'd like to find an whimsical looking bird feeder to attach to the balcony railing. Ideally, I'd like something in terra cotta to go with the rest of the planters. I may look around online for something. (Hmmm... then again if I plan on getting a cat perhaps, that isn't a good idea. I can just see some cat sailing over the railing and down 8 floors in an attempt to catch a bird feeding).

Cooked a meatloaf with a sliced potato and tomato sauce on top yesterday. Unfortunately, the meatloaf was of the tiny variety and in total, equated to two hamburger patties in size. I polished it off for lunch and dinner yesterday. Today I prepared a MASSIVE caesar salad for lunch. MASSIVE. Of the salad variety, caesar is my favourite.

Yesterday was lazy. I repotted 3 indoor plants, played online, listened to some music, read a novel, ran an errand outdoors, cleaned the bathroom, and napped. I love my life.

I need to spend the evening studying. I also need to put fresh sheets on my bed, do the dishes, take out the garbage, and mop the floors. Fortunately, I've already washed and folded 3 loads of laundry and got that out of the way.

Weekends go by too fast.

There's a couple of dogs in the neighbourhood resembling small buffalo with 'poodle like' fur. Unfortunately, Google doesn't bring up any dog listings for searches indicating "dogs resembling small buffalo". I'm kinda curious to know what type of dog they are.
After somebody posted their supposed ideal (physical) partner from the Match.com website, I went in and perused the site. Interesting what kind of pics people post of themselves. I'm not sure what attracts most women but, a guy who posts a pic of himself with his RIFLE doesn't do a thing for me ;)

I'm tentatively going to Calgary for classroom in May for a week.

Ran into a gal who used to work at a 'soup & sandwich' place close to work. She introduced me to her hubby, and her brand new 7 1/2 week old puppy. Sweet pup. Part husky, chow, and a host of other things. Part way through our chat, the pup curled up on the sidewalk and wanted to nap. Bummer they're moving to Peterborough in April, as I'd be definitely volunteering to walk their dog around the seawall on the weekends.

I'm taking a week vacation time in April. I think it might be nice to schedule a manicure/pedicure at that time.

I have a ton of stuff to get accomplished this weekend. I think instead of posting my 'to-do' list and making myself feel inundated, I'll just post what I actually get accomplished later.

Hmmm... those Quebec references on the Conan O'Brien show? Tacky shite.

Happy V-day :)
