This app is as useless as the program on the computer. Doesn't load on iPad, and doesn't connect to the computer. I'm glad their solar products work better than the apps!
Rather silly asking me to rate it before I have taken a look, don't you think? However, I am trying to download a current copy of SMA Sunny Explorer after a Catastrophic Crash of MicroRubbish Windows 10 (The Ultimate final Windows browser?) Each time I have tried to download Sunny Explorer, I am informed that the file is corrupt. The SMA Website is extremely user-unfriendly and after spending half an hour searching for a download of Sunny Explorer for Windows 10 to be told that the downloaded file (I tried 4 times) is corrupt, can you image my frustration?
The latest version of Sunny Explorer won't run reliably on Win10, whatever mode you try and this is confirmed by SMA. Why a large German company can't sort this out is beyond me. However, version 1.3 which is available from several sources (not SMA) will work.
I have been a user of the sunny explorer Bluetooth software on my desktop for three years, and it has now stopped connecting to the inverter saying that two other connections from other devices are already made. Not true.
I am trying to download the software again on a laptop to get closer to the inverter but find your website extremely difficult to navigate or to be able to download the necessary software.
Make sure you have the latest version installed. If not sure download from the SMA site and install over your old version. Then, after it has installed, and before you run it, right-click the desktop icon and choose properties. On the compatibility tab select run as Windows 7 and choose apply, then OK. This should then run OK if you run the program. N.B. If you have a large amount of data from your panels (i.e. an old installation, the new version will take a LONG time to download it via Bluetooth the first time you run it. Just leave it to do its thing - mine took maybe 25 mins for a 4 year old installation - then all was hunky dory.
