Oh..my calf muscles...!

So Saturday I attended a Time Out For Woman Broadcast with my Mother-in-law, Nicola, which was an amazing spiritual and mental boast for me. However, several of the talks focused on getting out and exercising, even if it's just a little bit. I however, sat in my pew feeling smug as a bug as I remembered earlier that morning I had already gone for a short jog. I woke up extra early, woke up my husband and rolled him out of bed and informed him we would be running around the block. Half awake and fully out-of-it, he joined me for stretches in the living room as we prepped to go out. It felt just like I was back in the mission field, and I joked about it to William, who only agreed by yawning.
We started out, me by just doing a small military like jog slowly to keep up with William who was just walking along. We circled the (rather large) block, and I found, aside from normal shortness of breath, I could actually keep up the military jog, so kept doing so. Silly me however, felt even more smug as we finally arrived home ten minutes later keeping up with my same pace as when I left. I jokingly said "I'm gonna feel this tomorrow!"
Oh it's tomorrow alright day after actually, and I can feel it.
So…so much….>.<

That night when we went to see the fireworks at the pier for Guy Fawkes day (Which were absolutely spectacular!) my legs were certainly crying out "Hey, we're hurting down here!" But I dismissed it as 'good workout' pain. However, the next morning when I woke up, my legs were doing a bit more than just crying out, they were screeching like banshees.

I hobbled around to take stock of my condition, only to find that dispite the stretches I had, and what I thought were good enough precautions, I still managed to pull my calf muscles in both legs. Soon the hilarity of the situation hit me and I could not help but laugh as I shook William awake again and told him the news. He must have thought I was crazy, breaking such news to him with laughter.

So here I lay inside today. My legs certainly feel heaps better than yesterday, but are still in a lot of pain! Nicola was an angel and sent over some anti-inflammatory cream that has helped (and smells like after-dinner mints!). Luckily she's been through similar experiences and knew the best treatments, for which I am grateful (and sympathize!)

Been far to long since I posted. No excuses.

Now on to business.

GUNDAMM!!!!!!

Just watched the first episode of GundamAge. I never heard of it until I finally got RSS feeds to sync up with my email, so now I can keep track of things. I am incredibly impressed with this first episode of GundamAGE, even though I hear the fan-base reaction has been quite negative. I can understand, but my views are thus: Firstly, it's art style is fantastic, sticking to the old 60's style designs of characters, while still revving up to look cool and hip by today's standards. Including the main character, Flint. His design, though not particularly Gundam-esqe, is still very awesome, though I am especially loving the design for Emily. I don't know, maybe it's her hair. :3 Plus the story is driven by Level-5's president Akihiro Hino! (Professer Layton, Dragon quest VIII, etc) And I admit, I am diggin the design for the enemy, the UE. Dragon like mobile-suits? That request has been floating around my deepest-darkest-secretest-wishes since I first watched anything Gundam related.

My day has been made. That is all.

Terror. Terror. Pure Terror.

Day before yesterday I needed to route out a way to get to a job interview I had the next morning. I realized the interview was further away than I had initially expected, and not only that, but I would have to transfer from several buses in an area I didn't know.

And not only that I would be heading towards the coast.

What's wrong with the coast you make ask? Nothing. Nothing at all! The ocean, the smell of the sea, the crisp air...It's all wonderful! But if I got lost, I would end up at the seaside. And that for some reason the idea sent such terror through me that I wound up pathetically lying on the couch sobbing while my poor husband tried his darndest to ~~figure out why a peaceful seaside would scare me~~ comfort me. X3 (He gets A+ on being such a good hubby!)

I don't know why I was so scared, but even the nest morning I was having little fright attacks, all up till I boarded the first bus.

It taught me a lesson though. By the time I arrived the fear was gone, and I had the interview (It was terrible, by the way. I had applied for one job, but they thought I was applying for a different one that I was not qualified for, then they were pointing out how unqualified I was, and I was all confused, and yeah. I didn't get it) and I went home. There was no reason to freak out, and I'm very confused as to why I did. Hormones? I dunno. Needless to say, I'm glad it's over. ~.~

And in the good news! William got a raise! Also his work is offering to give him a training course so he can earn his license to operate a forklift! Okay, that doesn't sound so exciting to most people, but here in NZ, most jobs require a forklift license. Construction workers, grocery store employees, beauticians (Okay, not really) but, nearly all jobs require them. So I'm glad he'll be able to get that done! He also is going to see if he can get Friday's off so he can work more on his videos. Crossin' our fingers!

And the last bit of news, we also got a calling in our ward! William and I both will be teaching Primary, ages 9-11. That's about the same age as the class I taught while still in Utah! Seems I'm forever to be in Primary. X3 I'm glad though, because I taught Relief Society last week as a substitute, and Sister Smith, (the Relief Society President) said I did a great job and asked if I had a calling, implying she wanted me to teach RS. I admit I was relieved to say I was already stolen away elsewhere! X3

Christmas in July...okay, August...

I've been back from my mission for a year.

That is so weird.

I feel like I just got back still, and in reality, I'm still just beginning to catch up with everything that I left standing still. To be fair I have had a lot going on, working non-stop, getting married, immigrating to a new country. You know, just little things like that. X3

So, now that things are quieting down (AKA, in the short span of time before I find a job) I'm going to try to catch up with things in the Otaku realm and wake that sleeping persona. So, here's what I'm currently working on:

Watching: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Playing: Pokemon Heart Gold, Black, and Dragon Quest VIII
Reading: Nothing ATM, need suggestions!

Does anyone have any suggestions of any good anime, manga or games that have come out in the past two years? Let me know, I feel so out of the loop!

As for RL happenings, MY FLIPPIN' WORK VISA WENT THROUGH! =DD Sweet Navel Oranges, yeah!!! So now I can get a job! And now I am job hunting...and now I am job waiting...for someone to reply to my sent out CV's...waiting...ever waiting...
William is working his day job, and still putting up videos for ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com, which I'm having a lot of fun helping him with. And I'm also trying to re-learn/catch up on web coding and designing. I'm thinking about doing Icontests again...Hurm...

Anyway, tons of snow falling in NZ at the moment, which is quite entertaining. In Utah it takes more than a good six feet of snow before anything even considers differing from the normal routine, from stores closing down to traffic slowing down. Where as here, it snows even an inch and EVERYTHING closes down and the city goes into lock-down mode. It's kind of funny really. I know it's because NZ does not get a lot of snow, and the proper equipment is unavailable to make the roads safe, etc, etc, but still, as a girl who's lived her whole life plowing through deep Utah winters, I confess amusement at my surrounding circumstances.

I"M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!! TT.TT I just found Brand New Breeze by Kanon on Last.fm free for legal download! My Itunes collection has shrunk considerably since I got rid of the songs I didn't purchase. And slowly re-adding my favourite Jpop songs has been just that-slow, as importing is so insanely expensive.

My dream of one of the Redwall books becoming a video game are not going to happen I'm afraid, as poor Brian Jacques would roll in his grave at least three times over! I would dearly have loved to see something in the Redwall series though be turned into a game-a GOOD video game. I can already see the lines of cheap budget ideas that could and would probably be taken if the probability weren't impossible. So maybe its a good thing there is not possibility of the game coming into existence.

I'm Back!

I have a lot to go over, but I'll just cross-post form my blogger account here the recent goings on.

1. I got married! Okay,so a lot of you know that already, but I'll say it again! I got married! It's almost been three months and I am loving every minute. William is wonderful, in every sense of the word. I am in good hands!
We are currently living in his parents caravan on their front lawn until we move into a flat next month (Wow, it's a good thing I don't have any pride or that last statement would have remained out of the blog. XD) William is working his poor self very hard! He is working right now in a grocery store warehouse organizing orders to different grocery stores across the South Island here in NZ, or as he described it in one of his tweets:
"Well, I'm off to the daily grind… It involves a knife, a gun, a huge warehouse and a whole lot of shrink wrap."
I am waiting still for my work visa before I can find a job myself. I have to wait till next month to submit my papers as I need to be in the married status as long as possible before submitting. It's a great lot of chaos, I tell you. :P

2. I got a calling! I was called as 1st councilor in our Ward YW presidency. It's been 6 (Oh my gosh, SIX??? how old am I!? TT.TT) years since I've been in there myself. Insecurities are a frequent, but so far I am enjoying it! I showed the girls one of my favorite I Love Lucy clips this week during the activity and they loved it. People have not heard of I Love Lucy here. 0.0

3. I am learning to drive on the wrong side of the road! =D Okay, so people here in NZ won't be offended, I mean the LEFt side. (XD) It is CRAZY getting into a car on the RIGHT side of the car, with the blinker on the RIGHT side, and the stick (Gear leaver, I was just informed was the proper NZ term) on the LEFT side. Waahhh! TT.TT But more on the driving adventures later!

And last but not least: 4: I've been through a bucket-load of earthquakes of late! 3 pretty big ones, which I feel is a great step in my NZ initiation! All that's left is to try Chocolate fish, lol. More on that later as well.

Whew! Now that that's all caught up, I can now begin blogging regularly with every day occurrences, rather than just re-capping, which is a good deterrent for regular blogging. T.T

I wish I coud dance at all. You would think taking ballet for 6 years I would gain some ability, but sadly, i cannot dance to save my life...

New Years Dreams?

So I had a question for everyone. I watched Episode 13 of Lucky Star last night whilst awaiting the new year, and they talked about the Japanese tradition of the 'first dream of the new year'.

Funny then, how my first dream of the New Year contained a Black Widow twice the size of a tarantula. X3

Happy New Year to everyone!
I am most excited for this new month! Not because January is my favorite month, or that my birthday is the 22'nd, but because...

William comes home on the 26'th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can one say excited? Ecstatic? Overwhelmed? X3 After two years of waiting and writing letters and cursing the holidays' postponing the mail system, I will be able to speak with him again! And soon after that see him! Because he is coming to the US in March! I am happy enough to actually celebrate the New Year. One I felt would never come. X3

As for resolutions, Ive never made any my whole life...Maybe now would be a good time?
1. Share the Gospel more freely.
2. resume my exersise rutine that I had down while on my mission
3. Draw daily
4. Finish my video game backlog.

X3 Sounds good to me!

After a year and a half being away from graphic making, I am having to learn all over again! My Christmas greeting banner to you all! (No... I have not been playing Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days for two days strait...*whistles*)

I could take the time to speak my feelings on the Christmas season, but President Monsen summed it up so well in his talk for the Christmas Devotional this year, that I wil simply quote him here.

A Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a blessed year. I know that as we keep Christ the centre this season and always, even beyond Christmas time, we will be blessed.

Today we were majorly snowed in. We got about 3 feet, and all of it bucketing down in a continuous non-stop flurry. Several power lines were damaged in the process and so we lost power early this morning and is was out for a good 12 hours. I am glad I had my DS fully charged! Speaking of which, the game I ordered came in the mail just in time to help keep me busy. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days! Ah, how I loveth! Before that however I got to take a meander down memory lane when I was handed my old GB Advance from my sister. Apparently she had been storing it on her stuff and I didn't even know it still existed! I cleaned it up and popped one of my oldest games I still own, Pokemon Trading Card Game, and, ahh, the nostalgia of the 2D pixilated goodness that consumed my childhood with many hours and invaluable training of becoming a TCG master!

And still to this day, even a decade later, it still has the power to consume my brain and transform me into that little kid who will become the Pokemon TCG Master and inherit the Legendary Pokemon Cards!
Does anyone else remember this game at all? Or tell me about your nostalgic gaming memories!

I also re-vamped my journal, cleaned out a lot of stuff and updated the layout and theme. When I first heard about "How to train your dragon", I wondered what all the hype was about. Well, after watching it with my nieces and nephews and seeing just how amazing it was, I too was hooked. You know its a good film when you walk away feeling like you were transported to another realm and yourself been on a magnificent journey. Plus, how can you ignore the adorable Toothless? The film is different than the book, but I like both equally. Kind of like the contrast between the Miyazaki film and book of "Howl's Moving Castle". It's the same story idea, roughly, with two different sets of characters you grow to love. It's like a double dessert of cake and ice cream, ans how can you go wrong with that? But that's just my pallet anyway. ;3

Well, enough of my pointless rantings for the evening. I wish all a good night and may the morning greet you with moogles serving you breakfast in bed. (I think I'm tired. X3)
