Real Life Update & Message

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been very active in my different comms (I'll be posting this on some of them also with the mods permisson), but my real life got a little out of control the last few months and I needed to stop to focus on that. In the process of almost losing our home (which is still a possibility) and dealing with family drama, my sister and I started a handmade geeky crafts shop. We started it to help raise money to save our home, a way to relieve stress and to show some of the craft skills that our mother taught us when we were kids. It started lout just a small business for friends, work peeps and family could order gifts for the holidays, but word got out and and Etsy shop was born CraftyGeekGirls.

Now things are going well for us, thus my return to LJ, but we are trying to make things go a little better. We've in the past attended conventions (like most fans do at least once), and now we want to take Crafty Geek Girls to the conventions also. So we've started a Kickstarter campaign to raise the money to do just that. Please take a moment to go check out our campaign and our shop. Call For Help!

So I normally keep my RL away from my LJ life, but the situation demands that I seek help where ever I can at the moment.

My family (the lovely people that they are) have decided to sale the house my siblings and I currently live in out from under us and have giving us until the 1st of July to get out. The problem we face is that due to medical emergencies, funeral expenses and other issues that have come up the last few years we have NO savings to afford this move. So we're asking for help, any donation would be appreciated, or just posting this link for other people to see would be a big help also.

Late but here you go...

Below is the art created for Proof of Life written by the amazing jesseofthenorth for the 2013 marvel marvel_bang. The story focuses on Agent Clint Barton and his changing career with S.H.I.E.L.D. while his live changes for the better.

I created a simple banner, not really wanting to take away from or mislead the readers on the storyline. Then I created a few "Scene" quote banners to display some of the moments that stuck with me while I read the fic. Hope you enjoy them all.

Unfortunately the story was not finished or posted for the bang so there is no link to it at this time. I only received a rough of the story so only have a few pieces created for it.

Below you'll find the story banner, scene break banner and the front cover art rough for a fan mix I'd been in the process of creating. I have a good start on the fan mix so I may actually go back and finish it after I wrap up a few other art projects for this bang. The story also contained some interesting character pairings which I started to make wall papers for.

Below is the art I was inspired to create for the story Close Call by sandrasfisher for the 2013 marvel_bang.

There is a scene close to the beginning of the story where Natasha is describing the room she's sitting in. While I read this I was inspired to create the following story banner, it's a quick moment but it stuck with me. (And yes I went the easy route with the choose of Jennifer Grey in the picture with Coulson, sorry but they are the perfect couple.)

Next we have the series of chapter break banners I made. On each one I featured the "logo" for one of the featured characters in that chapter.

In the story three couples appear, if they stay couples in another story. I created a quote banner for each pairing, with a line or phrase from the story.

The Other, his army and the escape

“Oh my poor Thor, what horrors did you suffer in that endless black? You must be hungry? Thirsty?” The sweet voice was filling Thor's conscious, the sound making it hard for him to focus on anything else. There was something he needed to do, something the voice was keeping him from. He knew this voice, he felt like he should be fighting against it but he just couldn't remember why. “Here let me he-.”

“Get away from my brother Witch!” Loki's shout was enough to break Thor from the trance the voice had him in, it was then he realized why the voice was stirring such feelings of hate in in him.

“Enchantress!”

“Oh well, looks like you ruined my fun Loki.” The woman in question threw a glance of pure hate over her shoulder to where Thor assumed his brother was located. “Nothing to worry about though, we'll have time enough for fun later my love.” Knowing that neither of the chained gods could do her any harm at the moment, the Enchantress leaned forward to steal a kiss from the blond princes before turning to leave their cell.

“Wait! Where are we? What do you plan to do with us?” Thor didn't expect any sort of real answer for his questions, he simply wanted to stall the female from leaving in an attempt to catch a glimpse through the now opened door. “Have you returned us to Asgard? When Odin -!”

“When Odin what my prince? Have you not heard? You, my love, are dead, you fell in battle while protecting the Nine Realms from your brother the traitor. Asgard now morns for the lost of their Golden Prince.” The Enchantress paused, allowing her words to sink in. “Has for where you are … I have made a few new allies since we last meet. We are on one of their ships. They travel the void and assured me that they would have no problem in locating you in it, all I have to do now is complete my part of the bargain and you my love will be mine forever. With no one in Asgard looking for you, there will be no rescue attempt from those idiots you call your brothers in arms. The Lady Sif is no doubt right now mourning the fact that she and you will never be a couple … not that she had a chance of that anyway. Everyone-.”

“Will you shut up! You are nothing but a small time witch who thinks herself bigger then … oaff!” Loki's interruption ended with the sound of something hitting flesh, worried for his brother Thor glanced in the direction the Enchantress had glared at earlier. At the sight that greeted him Thor began to struggle more fiercely with the chains that held him. There hanging from the roof on the other side of their cell was the Trickster, it was obvious from the way he held himself he was in pain. Thor could not see the wounds his brother no doubt had, but the small pool of blood which was forming on the floor below the dark haired god was more then enough to spring the Thunder lord into action. Next to Loki stood one of the Enchantress's allies, a reptilian species, in the creatures hand was a cruel looking knife from which some of the God's blood still dripped. Thor was now seeing red, he had just gotten his brother back, they had survived the void together, even growing closer in it's darkness, there was no way this women and some petty mortals were going to take him away.

Before anyone in the room knew what was happening Thor ripped his chains from the wall, holding out his hand he waited soon hearing the sound of something crashing through walls outside of the cell. It was when the sound seemed to be right outside that the Enchantress and Loki's tormentor moved into action. However, where the Citurai, Thor now recognized the creature, moved to stop Thor, the Enchantress was running for the door.

The wall just next to the door exploded in to the room sending the Enchantress to the ground under a pile of rubble, the creature who was about to reach Thor was suddenly thrown into the wall behind the god when he was hit in the side of the head by Meow-meow before the hammer landed in Thor's outstretched hand. The thunderer wasted no time reaching his brother's side. Reaching up to pull the chains from the roof at the same time that he wrapped an arm around Loki's waist to keep him upright.

“Loki, brother, are you able to walk? We must get out of here before others arrive.”

“I'm afraid I'll slow you down Thor, however I feel I may have enough energy to move us between the realms.” The Trickster's response was weak, almost spoken in a whisper, if it had been anyone else with the god they would have laughed at his suggestion. Thor however knew his brother and his ability to control and understand his magic. If Loki said he could moved them between realms, then that is what he could do, but where to go … that was a good question.

“Jane!”

“What? I don't know this place Thor …”

“It's not a place brother. Jane, she is the woman who helped me in my time on Midgard. I'm sure that she will have no problem helping us till you have rested and we have a plan.”

“You do not think that she and her friend s will not be mad at me for the destroyer?”

“We will explain it, they are very smart people and when they know the facts they will understand.”

“If you are sure,” there was still doubt in Loki's mind, but with the sounds of guards growing closer it was not like he had time to convince his brother of some other location. Where could you even convince him to go? It's not like there is anywhere you would be safe, you have no home and Thor is the only family you have now. “Okay Thor, to New Mexico it is. I need you to considerate, and think of where the Bi-frost dropped you on Midgard.”

Focusing on Thor's feelings of safety and friends the Trickster began to start weaving his magic around the pair to open a portal to the branches of the Nine Realms. Just before the Citurai blasted their way into the cell the Enchantress woke up to see the brothers disappear in a flash of green light.

“You make have gotten away with him for now Loki, but has soon has I've got the Tesseract, and taken control of Midgard for the Other I'll have his army at my disposal and there will be no where for you two to run then.”

Brotherly bonding through the void

“Loki? Loki, are you alright brother?”
“He hates me that much? He hates me so much that he'd rather kill you then save me? What did I ever do to deserve that much hate?” Loki knew he sounded like a small child, but there floating in the void of space, watching the place he'd called home for so long drifting further away he found that he did not care. It was impossible for the trickster to understand how his father could hate him so much. “Am I truly that much of a monster?”
“Loki stop! You are not a monster, brother, you were never one and will never be one.” Thor had to get his brother to stop thinking along the lines he was. The Thunder God felt that if he did not stop his brother from going down that line of thought it would end badly, well more then is already was, for both of them. “Loki, look at me. Please brother?”
“You should let me go, you could push off of me perhaps, we could aim you back towards Asgard. Surely Father would see you returning and pull you out of the void. Yes, that will work … Thor give me-.”
“LOKI! Stop, I am not leaving you here to suffer alone. He dropped us both brother, I would not return without you by my side. Father may see you has a monster, but you are still my little brother and if you a destined to float through the void I will float with you.” Thor used the warriors grip he had on Loki's arm to pull the younger god into a hug.
Loki found himself in Thor's strong embrace, he found his view of the void blocked by the solid mass that was his brother's chest, for the first time since the failed coronation Loki found himself feeling safe … feeling loved. Without a second thought the young god of lies found himself returning his brother's hug, not with has much strength behind it given his exhaustion from trying to pull Thor back up onto the bi-frost, but with the eternity the brother's loosened their embrace till they were floating through the void side by side.
“Where do you think we'll end up?” Loki still sounded like a scared little child, but with the knowledge that he would have his brother by his side no matter where they landed he didn't feel like one has much.
“I don't know Loki, but at least we will be together when we get there.” Thor heard the little brother he'd lost so long ago in the question, and just like back then he felt the need to comfort the man next to him. “I mean who would be dumb enough to challenge the sons of Odin, the princes of Asgard … who would dare take on the God of Thunder or his brother the God of Mischief?”
“Yes, who indeed?” Loki laughed at his brother's attempt to calm him, but he could hear the small sound of fear lacing the thunderer's words. “Who indeed?”
“Remember that time when the Warriors Three and I got drunk at that tavern after our latest hunt?”
“Brother, the four of you got drunk in a tavern after everyone of your hunts. To which one are you referring to in particular?” Loki knew what his brother was planing with this conversation, start talking about the old days, remember the fond time that they had in their youth, talk about anything that would distract them from where they current found themselves. If that is what Thor thinks will help, I'll play along. “The instance where the four of you somehow challenged the men folk of an entire village to a wrestling match? Or the time that Farandal found himself engaged to a goat?”
“OH! The goat! I had forgotten about the goat!” Thor's thunderous laughter filled the space around the two gods, it was not long till Loki found himself joining in with laughter of his own.
That is how it went for the two brothers, remembering trips and adventures from their youths to keep their spirits up. Neither knew how long they had floated in that never ending blackness, they both agreed though that when they landed they had been better off floating in that blackness with nothing but each other and their memories to keep them company.

{FIC}Avengers MCU - Change of Fates - Septimus (1/9)

On the bi-frost and off

Dangling from the edge of the destroyed Bi-frost, the sons of Odin found themselves in what felt like reversed roles. For as long as the older of the princes could remember he has been the one saving and protecting his younger brother, (with a few exceptions on the battle field when Loki's magic had saved the day), till now … now thanks to a trick of fate, the explosion caused by his breaking of the Bi-frost and the quick reflexes of his younger brother, Thor Odinson found himself dangling over the vast void that fills the space between the Nine Realms with only his father's gold staff and the strength of Loki holding him to Asgard and not letting him fall. Being the older brother that he is though, Thor knew that he must make a decision and make it soon.
     "Loki please ... you can't hold us both. Let go."
    "Thor ... shut ... up." The trickster gasped, the staff was starting to slip. I could just let go ... all my troubles would be done ... why can't I just let go? He's not my brother ... I owe him nothing ... Just let go. "Thor I'm going to try and pull you up."
    "Loki, I can't let us both fall, Asgard needs a prince." Thor was getting that look on his face, that 'I want to be a hero' look. He knew he should continue to fight, not an hour ago his brother tried to have him killed by the Destroyer in Midgard, but after hearing Loki's words in the dome Thor found himself wondering if he would not have done the same thing if he had been in Loki's place. Unlike what the Warriors Three and Lady Sif said Loki had not claimed the throne of Asgard, in the absence of both Odin and Thor it would have gone to the younger prince by his birth right. Yes, Loki had lied to him about his father, but if it had not been for that lie Thor may not have accepted his place on Midgard, he may not have got to know Eric, Jane and Darcy, he would have felt no need to protect the people in that small town … he would not have gotten his powers and hammer back.
    "Thor, shut up and grab the staff with your other hand."
    "Take care of mother Loki ... promise you will."
    "Thor! Shut up!"
    The Trickster gave a pull on the staff, if I can just get his hand high enough to grab. Loki could almost reach his brother's hand, just a few more inches and he would be able to get Thor's grip in his hands instead of the slipper gold staff, then disaster hit. The portion of the Bi-frost that Loki had been clinging to cracked, the sound somehow echoed around the two brothers even though they hung over the vast nothingness of the void. The sound made the young prince double the effort of his plan to get his brother back on the bridge and made the older brother try even harder to get his brother to promise to protect the family when he was gone. Thor knew their time was running short, the bridge would not hold much longer, nor would Loki's strength. His little brother had always been known for his magical skills, not his muscles.
“Loki, please … forgive me?”
“Thor for the last time SHUT UP AND GRAB MY HAND!” The scream was full of pure emotion, it instantly reminded the Thunder God of the times Loki had saved him on the battle field in their youth. It was a voice he had not heard in a long time, a voice that he responded to before he realized what he was doing. Just as the younger god had his brother's hand his the staff was released so that he could grab his brother's other outstretched limb. It was at the moment that he heard the bi-frost give under their combined weight, he meet Thor's eyes and saw fear there, Loki could not remember the last time he'd seen fear in his brother's eyes. “Thor … I'm sor-.”
     Something grabbed his foot, he was not sure who now held him up, but he knew that they would be safe now, all he had to do was keep Thor in his grip till their savior pulled them up. He looked up one more time to meet Thor's eyes, trying to see if he could figure out who it was that held them from the void, and instead of seeing relief or joy in his brother's blue eyes he still saw fear. Who could be holding them? Why would there still be fear in those eyes?
“Father! Pull us up please, our strength will not hold much longer.” Thor sounded like a small child all of the sudden, like he was asking for a new toy and knew that the answer would be no, but still made the attempt to ask for it. “Father?”
“So much damage … so much.”
“Father, please it was not Thor's fault it was mine, please pull him up at least.” Loki had a feeling he knew what Odin was thinking, the same thing he had been just moments before … if I just let go all of my problems will be gone. Yes, Odin would lose Thor but he could go down in history has having died to protect the realms from his evil brother, Odin would have him celebrated in song for centuries. Loki suddenly wondered if it possible for Odin to hate him more then he loved Thor? The look that flashed across the older brother's face seconds before the Trickster felt the hand on his ankle let go gave him the answer he was hoping to not find out.
As the two brother's fell into the void, still clinging to each other Loki got his answer. Yes, Odin hated him more then he loved Thor.
