Pat Conroy
I loved Pat Conroy's writing. I can't say I loved all of his books equally, but I did love many of them. He could tell a story.
He had recently posted about his cancer (another point of light lost to pancreatic cancer, as was Alan Rickman), so the news was not a surprise.
Even so, I recognize his passing with sadness.
