Our federal government is finally starting to get serious about the huge drain of illegal immigration on America’s resources, and Idaho must as well. If we fund illegal aliens’ non-emergency medical care, illegal aliens will come to Idaho. If we do not fund them, they will not come to Idaho (or likely will leave).

While some will argue that it’s heartless to deny routine medical care to illegal immigrants, many believe that it’s immoral for citizen taxpayers to fund such care for people who are here illegally, breaking our laws, and taking advantage of America’s kind heart. When American citizens are forced to pay for bloated medical budgets for illegals, we cannot thrive as individuals, a state, or a country. This is wrong!

H0135 addresses benefits currently available to illegal aliens who come to Idaho. It continues to humanely provide access to emergency medical services, but removes non-emergency health care benefits and some social benefits. Instead of being a magnet that draws illegal aliens to Idaho, the lack of free healthcare will cause them either to move out or think twice about coming.

Removed benefits include:

• Immunizations, testing, and treatment of communicable disease symptoms;

• Prenatal care;

• Postnatal care not to exceed twelve (12) months;

• Food assistance for a dependent child under eighteen years.
