This legislation amends Idaho Code section 37-2732 regarding controlled substances. A mandatory minimum fine of $300 is added for first time convictions of marijuana possession of three (3) ounces, or less, of net weight. Minors are exempt from a minimum fine for misdemeanor possession.

Marijuana should NOT be legalized (medical or recreational) and fines should be imposed for its use at all levels.

We escaped from the Portland, Oregon, area after watching it devolve from calm, safe, clean beauty into chaos, danger, and filth due to lenient drug and other law enforcement policies.

It's important to take a stand and put teeth into our laws regarding marijuana. Marijuana IS a gateway drug and it is the start of a slippery slope for society.

For those who want ‘medical marijuana,’ make it a prescription drug and retain all penalties for its possession without a valid prescription. Requiring prescriptions might not fully solve the problem, as we know from the opioid crisis, but it would define marijuana’s proper role in society.
