Random Rant: My Dog - March 5th 2026
Fair warning, this rant is gonna suck.
We had to put one of our two dogs to sleep last Monday. About a month ago she started to really slow down on eating. Two weeks ago she started to show signs of kidney issues, and she just rapidly declined after that with almost no eating for the last week. Then on Sunday she stopped eating and drinking altogether. At that point it was better to take her in and make the end easy rather than make her live out the next few days in pain. Mind you, she was a 17 year old dog, so she had one hell of a run. With her age we expected this to happen sooner rather than later, but I'm not ashamed to admit I am a mushy soft guy when it comes to things like this so it hit me hard even if it was somewhat expected. All that said, I took a few days off starting around Saturday/Sunday, and I started to slowly get back into work late Wednesday. The update will probably come out a week late because of it. I know you guys will understand, but I still feel the need to give you all a heads up as to whats going on and why.
Also, setting this one to public cause I really don't want to get poked and prodded by people wondering what this rants about. To everyone expressing sympathy, it's very much appreciated even if I don't get a chance to message you back.
