StyleSeed
A thinking framework for UI · Claude Code, Codex & Cursor

Teach your AI design judgment. Not just components.

Your AI ships default-indigo, icon-chip, template UI. StyleSeed hands it 74 rules of designer judgment — and a quality gate that fixes the tells before you see them.

The fastest way is one sentence.

No install required. Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or any AI agent and it reads the rules and applies them to whatever you build next.

Why install beats paste

The quality gate only runs when it’s installed

Paste alone teaches the rules, but the step that strips the “AI look” is the gate — and /ss-score / /ss-build can only run once installed. Then your lock persists in STYLESEED.md(no drift), and every screen is scored and fixed before you see it. All 16 skills, universally — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI & 12+ more.

npx skills add bitjaru/styleseed# then, to build a screen: /ss-build
One engine, many looks

Same product. Six presets. One /ss-restyle away.

Distinctive isn’t a coat of paint. Each preset is a coherent coordinate across the dial axes — radius, density, color, weight, motion, plus a font and a signature move — so every look reads designed, never generic. Trend gimmicks (glass, neumorphism) are deliberately left out.

The same Relay product rendered in six StyleSeed presets — swiss, editorial, technical, warm-dtc, minimal-mono, brutalist-lite. Each is coherent and distinct, none looks generic.

Why it works

Other repos give your AI components. We give it the reasoning.

Every decision in a StyleSeed UI has a stated reason — the rule it follows and why that rule makes the result look designed. That’s what an AI can actually read, apply, and repeat. Walk a real screen, decision by decision.

A StyleSeed UI card annotated with the design rule behind each decision — numbers 2:1, one accent, content in cards, one corner radius, never color alone, real states.

Other design skills make your UI coherent.
StyleSeed is the only one that also fights the generic-AI look — and enforces it.

The gate now has eyes. /ss-score reads the code — but some of the worst 'AI-made' tells only exist in pixels: a hero that doesn't actually dominate, a lower third of dead whitespace, a web font that silently failed to load and fell back to Times, two colors that look like two accents once rendered, an empty state that's a blank white void. A human sees these in half a second; a code-reading gate misses all of them. New /ss-verify closes that gap: it renders the screen, screenshots it, and the agent LOOKS at the image — scoring the same StyleSeed gate against what it actually sees, including the empty/loading/error states, then fixes and re-renders until it passes. Code-clean is necessary; pixel-clean is the real bar. It never claims a visual pass without a real screenshot. Runs after /ss-score, and /ss-build finishes a renderable screen with it.
