Nothing feels as good as slipping into a pair of jeans that fits exactly how you want. Whether you want that fits-like-a-glove feel, or prefer a high-rise, slightly baggy, vintage silhouette, finding the best-fitting jeans for your body is akin to winning the fashion lottery. Many stylists will tell you that the secret to a great pair of jeans is a trip to the tailor, but one brand begs to differ.

In recent years, Abercrombie jeans have become a sort of phenomenon, thanks to a rebrand and refocus on creating the best-fitting off-the-rack jeans. The brand has an inclusive size range with up to five different lengths, so you don’t have to get your jeans hemmed or let out at a tailor. Plus, its beloved Curve Love line ensures your denim doesn’t do anything weird, like flair open at the waist—and honestly makes up for its early ‘00s fits (IYKYK)—if you have more of a pear-shaped frame.

Abercrombie Jeans Testing, at a Glance

While fit is the most important thing when it comes to jeans, price is also worth considering. We’ve tested tons of high-end, designer denim, and that price tag doesn’t always translate to fit. Most Abercrombie jeans cost under $100 and have excellent structure, draping, and—of course—fit. The promise of regular Abercrombie sales also means you can snag them for even cheaper several times throughout the year.

To put Abercrombie’s size and fit range to the test, StyleCaster team members conducted some IRL research. Here are our findings.

10 Best-Fitting Jeans From Abercrombie—No Tailor Necessary
Abercrombie & Fitch Low Rise Ultra Loose Jean
“The Low Rise Ultra Loose Jean has become my new favorite pair of jeans. I like them so much that I have them in two colorways (Light Brown and Black), but I’m incredibly tempted to buy a third. I didn’t expect them to fit so well—even though I got the Short version in size 24—since pants usually run long on my 5-foot-5 frame. However, I’d say these are perfect if you’re 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 (AKA that tricky height that sits between Petite and Regular sizing). For reference, my jeans graze the ground when I wear them with flats. They’re a bit loose around the hips, but that’s how I like them to fit, so no complaints there either. They’re just a well-fitting, reliable, comfortable, and versatile pair of jeans for those who prefer an extra baggy fit and look. My favorite outfit combo is these loose jeans, a more form-fitting top, and Mary Jane flats. The contrast between these silhouettes deserves a chef’s kiss, and it’s honestly the only thing I want to wear these days. If I could sport these jeans every day of the week, I would!”Katie, Decker-Jacoby, Commerce Editor (Size: 24; Length: Short; Colorway: Light brown)

Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Wide Leg Frayed Hem Jean
“I have a long torso and short legs, so finding jeans that don’t need to be hemmed can honestly feel impossible at times. To be completely honest, the short or petite styles often fit a little weird, too. Abercrombie is one of the best places to buy jeans because the brand offers such an extensive range of sizes and different fits (including the incredible Curve Love line). The lengths available still ensure the jeans drape the way they were intended to and don’t make you feel like you’re just wearing a cropped or elongated version of the design. I got the High Rise Wide Leg Frayed Hem Jean in the short length for a spring Euro trip and was shocked at how well the length worked on me—especially considering its wide silhouette. I like my jeans to have good structure, so I don’t usually go for a pair with stretch, but these are only a little stretchy, so they still have the rigid look while feeling more comfortable, too.”Jessie Quinn, Contributing Writer (Size: 26; Length: Short; Colorway: Off-white)

10 Best-Fitting Jeans From Abercrombie—No Tailor Necessary
Abercrombie & Fitch Men’s 90s Straight Jean
“After hearing rave reviews, I was excited to try Abercrombie’s 90s straight jeans after loving and owning multiple pairs of the brand’s baggy jeans. But I’ll be honest. These jeans were a lot slimmer and shorter than I expected from a straight jean. The bottom of the jeans hit just below my ankle, while the rest of the pants are fitted in the seat and thighs and continue throughout the rest of the leg. That’s not to say that I didn’t like them. I got a lot of compliments when I wore them, but if you’re expecting a less slim straight jean, you may need to size up slightly in the waist and thigh.” Jason Pham, Managing Editor (Waist: 32; Length: 32; Colorway: White)

Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Bootcut Jean
On Sale 61% off
“As someone who already swears by Abercrombie’s Curve Love long inseams, I was curious whether the bootcut style would live up to the hype, too. Both the light and dark washes won me over—the flare actually falls correctly on taller legs, and the denim feels surprisingly comfortable for jeans I wore all day at work!” Allison DeGrushe, Entertainment Writer (Size: 30; Length: Long; Colorway: Dark)

Abercrombie & Fitch Men’s Baggy Jean
“In less than a month, I’ve already worn these jeans close to 10 times. I own multiple pairs of Abercrombie baggy jeans, and none of them have been a miss. Of all the baggy jeans I’ve tried, Abercrombie’s are the perfect amount of loose and straight. They have the perfect amount of bagginess without making you look like you’re swimming in them. They’re also fitted in the places that flatter you the most. The one warning I have, however, is that they do run longer than other baggy jeans I’ve owned (I usually have to cuff them on the bottom if I’m wearing shorter shoes), so it could be worth sizing down if you’re in between lengths.” Jason Pham, Managing Editor (Waist: 32; Length: 32; Colorway: Cream)

Abercrombie & Fitch Low Rise Ultra Loose Jean
“I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of loose jeans for so long, and these are finally the pair. I love the low-rise fit since it’s different from the high-rise styles that make up most of my jean collection. They’re relaxed, comfortable, and easy to style. I already know they’re going to be on heavy rotation all summer.” — Sarah Wallace, Video Producer/Editor

Abercrombie & Fitch Linen-Blend Low Rise Ultra Loose Drawstring Jean
“I swear by the Curve Love line, and these jeans feel perfect for summer. They’re snug toward the waist and hips, and then very flowy towards the leg. I wish the color were more accurate to off-white color online instead of tan, but the blend between cotton and linen makes it very breathable, which I’m looking forward to this summer.” — Amanda DeSilva, Video Producer/Editor (Size: 31; Length: Regular; Colorway: Tan print)

Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Barrel Jean
“I’ve been obsessed with the barrel style lately, and the only thing missing from my jean collection are semi-high waisted barrel jeans. They’re not too snug, and as a girlie on the thicker side, these are exactly the type of jeans that I’ve been looking for.” — Amanda DeSilva, Video Producer/Editor (Size: 31; Length: Regular; Colorway: Light)

Abercrombie & Fitch Mid Rise 90s Straight Jean
On Sale 30% off
“I don’t typically wear light wash denim, but these were calling to me, and I absolutely love the color. I’m typically more interested in a high-rise cut, but the mid-rise on these is still high enough that I can wear them comfortably. They’re the perfect summer jean.” — Allie O’Connell, Director of Video (Size: 30; Length: Regular; Colorway: Medium)

Abercrombie & Fitch Halter Denim Jumpsuit
“If you only shop Abercrombie’s denim section for jeans, you’re missing out on this denim halter jumpsuit. I had no idea how fun this piece would be to wear. As a 5’6”, 115-pound, 32C girly, the size small felt super snatched while still leaving enough room in the lower stomach area to eat and sit comfortably. You can wear it as is, but I wanted to add a pop of color, so I tied a silk handkerchief into a makeshift flower detail—no hair tie or pins needed. The legs have a great wide-leg fit, and I’m super impressed with the denim quality.” Kaili JiMei, Social Media Manager

FAQ

What’s the difference between Abercrombie Curve Love and regular?

Abercrombie Curve Love is designed for curvy frames, reducing waist gaps and other fit concerns that can come with traditional jean silhouettes when you have curves. This line of denim specifically caters to body types with fuller hips and thighs, with extra material in the legs and hips to create a better fit. Regular Abercrombie jeans have a straighter, more uniform cut.

What jeans sizes does Abercrombie offer?

Abercrombie offers women’s sizes ranging from 23 to 38, though this can vary depending on the style. Abercrombie men’s jeans include a 26 to 38 size range.

What jeans inseam lengths does Abercrombie offer?

Abercrombie jeans are known for their impressive inseam lengths, with most women’s pants available in at least a few different length options, and several featuring extra-short, short, regular, long, and extra-long variations. Abercrombie men’s jeans are available in inseams ranging from 28 to 34.

Do Abercrombie jeans run small?

Abercombie jeans typically run true to size, especially considering the various fit and inseam options available. Additionally, most Abercrombie jeans have a little bit of stretch, which supports the true-to-size fit. For exact fit insights, refer to the customer reviews on specific styles, as some variation might occur.
