Child Photography on / Kinderfotografie auf STRKNG

Although child photography occasionally appears on STRKNG, we generally do not support it for the well-being of the child.
Our editorial context – with a strong focus that has evolved toward portrait and nude photography – is not appropriate for this.
In addition, there is the right to self-determination: minors are usually unable to fully assess the scope, publicity, and long-term impact of such publications.

Nevertheless, we would like to make one exception.

We invite you to share historical photographs from your own childhood.
By doing so, we honor the visual language of past decades and take a gentle look at the photographic conventions of earlier times.

We are particularly interested in images that clearly carry the spirit of their era –
from carefully composed black-and-white photographs to early color snapshots and spontaneous images from later decades.
Whether formal or casual, deliberately staged or accidental: what matters is the atmosphere and the period-specific perspective.

There is nothing to win – except a bit of nostalgia and the joy of shared memories.

How to participate:

1) Create a blog post (whether the post is open for feedback comments is up to you)
2) Show photographs of yourself only
3) Use the tag “pastmemories”; the title may include an approximate time and place

Obwohl sich gelegentlich Kinderfotografien auf STRKNG finden, unterstützen wir diese zum Wohle des Kindes grundsätzlich nicht.
Unser inhaltlicher Kontext – mit einem Schwerpunkt, der sich stark in Richtung Portrait- und Aktfotografie entwickelt hat – ist hierfür ungeeignet.
Hinzu kommt das Recht auf Selbstbestimmung: Eine minderjährige Person kann Tragweite, Öffentlichkeit und mögliche Langzeitwirkungen einer Veröffentlichung in der Regel nicht vollständig überblicken.

Eine Ausnahme möchten wir dennoch machen.

Wir laden euch ein, historische Fotografien eurer eigenen Kindheit zu zeigen.
Damit ehren wir die Bildsprache vergangener Jahrzehnte und werfen einen liebevollen Blick auf fotografische Konventionen früherer Zeiten.

Wir freuen uns besonders über Bilder, die ihre Zeit spürbar in sich tragen –
von streng komponierten Schwarz-Weiß-Aufnahmen über erste farbige Momentaufnahmen bis hin zu spontanen Schnappschüssen späterer Jahrzehnte.
Ob formell oder beiläufig, sorgfältig inszeniert oder zufällig entstanden: Entscheidend ist der zeittypische Blick und die Atmosphäre der jeweiligen Epoche.

Es gibt nichts zu gewinnen – außer ein wenig Nostalgie und Freude am gemeinsamen Erinnern.

So nehmt ihr teil:

1) Blogpost erstellen (ob der Beitrag als Feedback kommentierbar ist, bleibt euch überlassen)
2) Zeigt ausschließlich Fotografien von euch selbst
3) Verwendet den Tag „pastmemories“; als Titel gerne eine ungefähre Zeit- und Ortsangabe
