So ready for the weekend
As promised, a more thorough update on life things.
First my work. I kind of really dislike the night supervisor I have to work with. He gets flustered so fricking easy and bitches at people about how busy he is with his own work when they come to him with a problem THAT IT'S HIS JOB TO FIX. Ugh, I don't hate people, at least I try not to, but he comes pretty close. I've already complained to my department head about him once, a couple months ago, and things got a little better, but now they're getting worse again. He's of the business school of "shut up and just do what I tell you, don't ask me questions, I don't care if it's wrong, you should just be happy you're getting paid." And I hate that so much.
Anyway, we've been captioning the TV show Get Out Alive, and for a reality show, it's actually pretty interesting. It's wilderness survival stuff and man, I would never survive. *^_^* I almost gagged watching them eat wood grubs. Ewww. Also we captioned a movie called Europa Report and it's been weird seeing people I follow on Tumblr and Twitter talking about it.
Also we have a big project coming in over Labor Day weekend and they've already asked us all to "volunteer" to work overtime. Ugh.
My dad is having gall bladder issues now, but doesn't want to have surgery unless it gets much worse. The main treatment he's following is to stop eating spicy foods, which is almost all he eats because most of his taste and smell were lost to his chemo. I don't blame him for not wanting the surgery (he's on blood thinners for his heart) but at the same time it worries me that he'll wait till it's an emergency.
I've only read a couple of big bangs this year. I don't know why, but my reading has really slacked off this year. I'll start something and then lose interest and not finish it. (This applies to regular books too.) On the other hand I am slowly being converted to tumblr. I love all the fan art posted there and how easy it is to reblog it. It does seem like a bit of an echo chamber with the same things showing up on my dash over and over. I wish there was a way to remove the duplicates posts from my timeline, but oh well. It's rekindled my love for Banana fish a little bit too-- I found someone over there who regularly posts about it. Also LJ finally figured out they had screwed up and took away all my extra icons I wasn't paying for and I am back to the minimum. It was nice while it lasted. :D
Have some pretty Golden Gate photos. I love the bay area.
I am really REALLY tempted to buy this print, but I'm not sure if it's too fannish to put up on my walls. What do you guys think?
Let's see, in the last Friday poll donuts beat bagels by a pretty wide margin, which surprised me a little.
