finished my fourth win upon writing this. geuinely one of my favourite games. a must play for anybody who plays games. please get it and please find the patience to reach the top

BIG UPDATE
everybody heard so I'm not going to waste too much time writing it down, this issue with PSN has been resolved, there will be no account migration for the foreseeable future and therefore I'm changing this review from negative to positive. lets hope it stays this way. I'm hesitantly hopeful that this and all sorts of LGBT pozzed nonsense stays away from this great game.



the following is my review back when it was negative, for posterity's sake



probably the best release gaming has seen for a while. certainly this year.
at least it would have been, if Sony didn't take a steaming dump on it. You've heard it all before, but ill say it again because it must be repeated until our ears bleed and our mouths grow sore.

there is absolutely no reason to make us link our PlayStation accounts. there are a number of reasons why i dont want to do that, including, but not limited to:

-completely unnecessary. there is no real reason
-PSN accounts are not secure. Sony has a very bad security track record when it comes to data breaches, including credit card details being leaked
-the idea of using this account linking to expand the powers that moderators have to ban people is frightening. this game absolutely does NOT need any more moderation than is already possible. let us play our game in peace. @Missssty_OW (a community & support employee for arrowhead GS) states on twitter that the sole reason for this change in the conditions of the sale is so that they can more easily ban people. yeah, no thanks. this idea that we can just take away the game people paid for because they said a no no word (zomgeez scary h8 speech lol just auto censor the words) doesn't sit right with me, especially when they have sensitive diversity hire types like him (whoops) in positions of power. I'm aware that not everybody may agree with this last statement and that's fine, but I'm sure that us being on steam lets us at least appreciate the more free and hands off community moderation approach here, even if you personally don't agree with it
-i do not want to artificially inflate Sony's numbers, as this is also another likely reason that they're pushing for this, making their numbers look nice for their investors [this was confirmed by Spitz on discord]

its a real big shame. this was not only a great release but it also didn't cram irl garbage down our throats with LGBT skins and nameplates themed after made up holidays like other games do, one of the biggest that comes to mind is MCC

spent hours trying to make it work. such a great game but EA sucks donkey dong and refuses to fix even the simplest of issues. probably possible to make work if youre some wizard or have all the time in the world but it seems to involve unplugging literally every peripheral from your PC and uninstalling a bunch of software that may be conflicting with it. what a waste of a fine game.

My verdict? Pozzed to hell.

-THE BAD-

-SEP 1 UPDATE!! on Nov 10 they will add AI moderation system in an update which will spy on you and ban you for saying no-no words! very cool and awesome!
its disgusting that we are going to have to put up with being treated like children instead of functioning adults. i don't need mommy and daddy over my shoulder analysing and saving everything i ever say in game chat, its an invasion of privacy and is dehumanising. all because they need to be extra PC for the nice big boy dollars they get from their stakeholders or whatever the term is and however the money goes. i wont be touching this game again

-Removed country flags in favour of pride flags (they added then back recently, but shows you where their priorities are)

-the story was pretty well ♥♥♥♥♥♥, everything is worse than the original. The no Russian scene was replaced with ghost gun fear mongering.

-no risks taken in the story either, just cool set-pieces. no boundaries were pushed, very safe, very lame.

-the weapon names are kinda dumb

-the operators/skins are often extremely dumb. i just wanna play generic military man

-the nick mercs controversy is maddening. They will throw anybody to the dogs to keep their kiddie diddling allies happy. Disgusting.

+THE GOOD+

+the gunplay and animations are kinda cool

+Ghost seems more fleshed out but his design looks silly imo

If you give even half a ♥♥♥♥ about the well being of society and gaming don't buy this game. Multiplayer feels fun but it's not worth it to spend almost 100 CAD on this, fuelling the gaming industry getting pozzed even more.

wtf was i on thinking mikitaka would be the part 4 character??? reading this back im surprised i predicted him over yuya. that said, hes the second most likely imo, being the portagonists' closest non main ally
