Initial Review: It's okay

May 2026 Update:
The game is still fun but the longer I play the more confused I feel how they've been doing updates. They initially wanted ARC to be a PVE game before release, but they added in aggression based match making pretty early and then started turning up the number of hostile bots and difficulty to compensate for the fact there's no fear. But, if you defend your self once, now you're in aggressive match making with the increased ARC at the same time.

They just added beach combing a nice relaxing way to spend your raid on the beach though... so do they expect us to be doing that if you want a more relaxed time or do they want us to fight?

I've heard from a lot of raiders in game over the past few months who are confused if they want it to be a PVE or PVP game it just feels like they've not decided themselves. I personally think they should at least try adding a PVE mode as an experiment and add some server side analytics to decide if the community is right, if not they can always remove it. Games aren't set in stone, as Embark already knows.

First they abandon KSP2, and now they try pushing toys on us instead of giving us updates and content.. really sad to see what's happened with KSP

Very good game, runs in flash, enjoyed it years and years ago but it shows great signs for world building and mechanics would love more content and love for this game. Great to get on sale.

No changes have been made in over 13 months, had excellent promise but has fallen flat with development and promises, and bugs still exist from the playtests in 2023

Constant disconnects, crashes.

It's not worth your time to justify the price right now.

I've previously used this program before it was on steam for full body tracking with a Kinect. I had minimal issues once configured but that's the big issue, it's not easy for users to grab and just use. It requires time to tinker and test it's not just plug and play.

It takes some time to get used to, and I think most of the reviews are new users just launching it, turning on a feature without changing any setting to what they need to and giving a negative reviews over that, I agree a lot more UI work could be done, but all the work Greg has put into it makes it something cool that you really should use and learn. The Discord is really helpful should you run into issues, and you will probably be confused at what one or two options mean while you tinker.

A bit of an update, since it's release it's had a lot of cleanup done and the UI is much cleaner, but I haven't directly used this in a while to comment on some new features, such as PSVR since I only use my Index.

An amazing look into Valve's process with never before seen information. As a long time fan, it's amazing to see Valve hasn't been complacent and is still innovating even when we don't know.
