I don't spend as much time on it any more, life gets busy like that sometimes.

Added, thanks!

Astroneer, an indie game now with a base price of $30, with shallow content and a lot more bugfixing to do, added egregious microtransactions with a premium currency.

The shop icon is present in the menu of the game throughout gameplay, that they put infront of everything else at the corner, and made be the only animated icon. There's also misrepresentative pictures for the currency purchase amounts.

Will do thanks!

I believe Far Cry New Dawn should be marked with a Red Card, as it appears to have a premium currency called "Far Cry Credits." Could you please investigate?
25 Apr, 2020 @ 10:37am
It sure does, I will update, thanks

Doesn't Hunt Showdown have microtransactions?
30 Jan, 2019 @ 8:21am
Thanks!

You have FFXV listed as a green card, meaing it has no microtransactions, but it actually does. You can buy the ultimate wepaons with real life money to get them in the game, like the Waffe: masamune, and the Sturmklinge XV. 100% microtransactions.

i recommend platypus and platypus 2 and i think its called nyx, as they are games that have no microtransactions and are worth buying

All, be sure to check the annoucements so you can enter our giveaway :) We are giving two copies of The Song of Seven away.

I disagree. The curator is for telling customers about microtransactions in games. We're not punishing games based on what type of microtransactions they contain, if it contains microtransactions it's a red card simple as that. We already write a small info box that tells you the type of microtransactions that are in the game and even changed all reviews to informal reviews to make it clear we're not trying to shame these games.

Hi!

I love your page but strongly believe it should alter it's basis to be relevant to consumers.

I strongly reccomend recategorizing your card system so that games that only implement cosmetic micros like CS:GO and PUBG aren't punished maximally as red cards, the same treatment given to actual toxic pay-to-win microtransaction games such as the infamous Star Wars Battlefronnt II where microtransactions directlly affect gameplay and the outcome of the game.

I'm not defending these games as they're clearly creating an environment to generate profit this way, however this is where the hard line is drawn and your system isn't useful if it's going to mark CS:GO the same as Star Wars BFII.

Thanks!

Thanks :)

Not all heros wear capes! Thank you so much guys. Finally a really good use of the Curator funktion.
30 Jan, 2018 @ 6:26am
I'll take a look at it, at a cursory glance the store page does say it contains in-app purchases.
30 Jan, 2018 @ 3:14am
Specifically the Costumes for White Day, I haven't seen anything else yet,
29 Jan, 2018 @ 7:54pm
If you can give an example of one of our red cards that calls DLC microtransactions I can take a look. As far as I know all our red cards are for microtransactions, not DLC.
29 Jan, 2018 @ 5:46pm
Also perhaps you might want to add information based on how invasive the Microtransactions are? Such as a game shoving microtransactions in your face, vs a game that hides it behind a few menus.
29 Jan, 2018 @ 5:29pm
I've been looking through some of the red card reviews and I think calling DLC "Microtransactions" is a bit far, not so much for stuff like buyable costumes, but booster packs and things that give P2Pers an edge over the people without as much expendable cash would probably be fair game.
19 Jan, 2018 @ 12:53pm
I will get that added thanks

Found something earlier today regarding Metal Gear Survive.

It's up but will likely be removed since Quake Champions will got free 2 play after early access.
13 Jan, 2018 @ 10:40am
Quake Champions should be added to Red Card for in-game currency which requires real money to replenish. In-game currency buys cosmetics and even champions which impacts gameplay.
11 Dec, 2017 @ 11:19pm
Your Rocksmith 2014 information is technically incorrect. You can purchase songs in packs as well as on their own, but the total DLC price listed on the Steam store page includes both the costs of the individual songs AND the packs they come in together.
26 Nov, 2017 @ 4:53pm
Thanks. That explains some things.
26 Nov, 2017 @ 6:12am
Joey asked me if I wanted to be a mod and do extra reviews and I said yes. Nothing has changed otherwise.
25 Nov, 2017 @ 7:51pm
So, what happened to the other guy? Though I won't mull about it since Aaron is doing a cool job.
22 Nov, 2017 @ 6:25pm
The review says "at the time of writing", that's there specifically so the review doesn't have to updated everytime they release another dlc.
22 Nov, 2017 @ 9:32am
Could you update the Train simulator 2018. It now has $7,215.88 worth of DLC
19 Nov, 2017 @ 4:01am
A reddit thread popped up about here. Might be useful to the owner on how to make this place better https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/7duo5s/steam_curator_microtransaction_check_flags_games/
16 Nov, 2017 @ 7:23pm
Hey, in another curator they stated that Battlerite has some problems that this group will find interesting. Link: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SSAVCH/curation/app/504370/
5 Nov, 2017 @ 10:23am
FYI Cosmetic Microtransactions should not deserve the title of "not recommended" just because of that. Only if it's pay to win should that be the case. Paying for cosmetics is just for looks obviously and no power advantage.
26 Oct, 2017 @ 4:08pm
Hey, I just found out that Assassin's Creed: Syndicate has microstransactions. I don't know how crazy its' implemented or how recent it is to fit in the group/curator.
25 Oct, 2017 @ 4:07pm
Before another microtransaction group closed, I mentioned that I won't be surprised if Ubisoft gave another option were the player can also buy play money. And I was correct about it.
25 Oct, 2017 @ 2:13pm
Yeah Ubi basically lied. Full microtransactions and the ability to buy the loot boxes.
25 Oct, 2017 @ 11:24am
I found more info on AC: Origins. So, update the info. Link: http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2017/10/assassins_creed_origins_microtransactions_confirmed_helix_credits_make_a_comeback

At least the loot boxes in that game aren't worrying to me.
24 Oct, 2017 @ 2:16pm
Thanks, Shingen, I was a bit worried about that, normally I go without spending a dime in a game like that (I didn't react well when I found out that there's 300 of microtransactions and the cards). What colored card will RotTR get here?
24 Oct, 2017 @ 8:00am
Hello, i'm new here, i bought Rise of the Tomb Raider 20th celebration and i did research about microtransactions. In game you got with season pass cards which you can use in game modes after finish main story (around 30hours) most of them are just a funny modification of game, so you can get pack of cards by finishing challenges in game or pay real money ( diamond pack 10 euro, the cheapest one 2 euro)
23 Oct, 2017 @ 12:41pm
Plz research Rise of the Tomb Raider, I heard that it has microstransactions.
23 Oct, 2017 @ 9:51am
So, how do these cards work? I've got a basic idea, but I don't know how to read the cards right. But what about a game that has only gambling mechanics and uses in game money, like some of the Pokemon games or Tales of the Abyss (Though there's plenty of games that are like that. But it's too early to judge of Assassin's Creed: Origins, the only thing that I know is that there's no microtransactions as far as I know...Since it's Ubisoft I won't be surprise if they add "other" options).
23 Oct, 2017 @ 7:36am
Hey, thanks Aaron. I've forgotten to put that about AC:Origins. I was just getting excited for it. :steamhappy:
21 Oct, 2017 @ 8:42pm
Here's a suggestion list (Warning: these games aren't out yet):
COD: WW2: http://store.steampowered.com/app/476600/Call_of_Duty_WWII/
AC: Origins: http://store.steampowered.com/app/582160/Assassins_Creed_Origins/

(Oh, ya alrady have Shadow of War).
18 Oct, 2017 @ 11:46am
Do ya guys do Loot Boxes? If so, I've got a few games for ya to add and I'll give ya info of what I heard of it (I suggest ya get the console versions of these two games though).
6 Oct, 2017 @ 1:26am
Not anymore it doesn't, the skins shop closed down years ago.
4 Oct, 2017 @ 7:31pm
I can't find any info on that either. However, Portal 2 does have cosmetic microtransactions in co-op.
4 Oct, 2017 @ 9:27am
Hey, where is the info on Portal 2 adding loot boxes? Never heard of this before.
