git.uwaterloo.ca - application maintenance - Outage Mar 9, 2026 09:00-10:00 EDT

On or around 9:00am on Monday the 9th of March, git.uwaterloo.ca will be restarted to apply security and application patches. This maintenance should bring GitLab to latest patch in 18.9.x release line.

IST vCenter Server Maintenance - No Impact

Scheduled - IST has scheduled a maintenance window for production vCenter Servers to apply the latest security patches.

Post-vCenter update, vSphere Host updates will roll out through March/April.
This will be transparent to running VMs (via live migration), except for host-affinity VMs—we’ll contact owners individually to coordinate. No action required unless notified.

What would be impacted during the maintenance window?
- access to vCenter server, e.g. taking snapshot

What will NOT be impacted during the maintenance window?
- VMs running in the virtual infrastructure
- Remote Access to VM Server through SSH/RDP

Scheduled - We will be doing an update on the server for the ICT access control system Thursday at 8am. This should not have any impact on door function. However the software and programming will not be available during the outage window. All Clients will be updated at the same time. Thank you.

The switchover to the backup site is scheduled to take place on February 18 between 7-8am and the switch back to the primary site will take place on February 25 between 7-8am. No additional downtime is expected.
