This journal is made of fangirling, babbling, irrationality, ranting/whining, and more fangirling. People outside of my primary fandoms or who don't know me personally are likely to be confused.

I have exactly one elective filter, and that is reserved for metaphysical discussion. I warn you in advance that it can get very loopy and out there to people who aren't interested. Do let me know if you are interested in that sort of thing when commenting. ^_^

Also, if you're new, please let me know who you are -- if we've met at a con or a chat or through a mutual friend or what-have-you. I don't recognize everyone's LJ right away, so a little reminder is really helpful. Thanks.

Tenipuri Episode Guide, Part 1: Eps 001-101

This isn't meant to explain everything that happens in every episode. The focus is primarily on the tennis matches: who plays who, what the scores are, and first appearances of any special moves. Notes are made in regards to any particularly memorable events, and also to any not-so-memorable characters, just to act as a reminder to what their names are.

Later on I admit to including some not-so-objective comments.

Characters are generally referred to as they are in fandom - that is, characters who are more commonly referred to by given name (Ryoma, Shinji, Yuuta, etc) by the majority of fans are also referred to as such in here.

050: Ranking Matches begin. Lots of no-contest games. (Eiji's first to make it in, beating Arai 6-0; Ryoma v. Oishi 6-3; Momo v. Inui 2-6. Poor Momo had to play both Inui and Tezuka. ;-;)
051: Inui v. Tezuka. They're both in, but they play each other anyway.
052: Inui v. Tezuka. (Tezuka Zone! And the zero-shiki drop!) The kids worry about Momo, who's angsting. (Ryoma watches him angst from the roof...) Oishi and Eiji get in a fight. ;-; - Eiji-Ryoma v. Oishi-Kaidoh; cancelled after one point thanks to Tezuka showing up and making them run laps. ^^;

053: Momo v. Izumi-Fukawa, briefly; Momo v. Ann. Hyotei are watching, Atobe picks on Momo. Ryoma challenges Atobe ("the monkey king"), who leaves. GP make up. ^^;

SEASON TWO NOTES:

054: Drawings for Kantou tourney. The reporters visit Rikkai, which have red (better) uniforms this time. Seigaku faces Hyotei in their first match. Momo's got Inui's notebook ... Kaidoh's training shirtless down by the river; Inui stalks him and begins their, um, 'special' training. >>;
- Shishido beats Taki (of actual regulars) 6-1; Taki is dropped and Hiyoshi replaces him. Shishido requests to play (with Ohtori!), cuts his hair; Atobe petitions on his behalf.

065: [S1] Tezuka v. Atobe. DOOM! ... Atobe is such a diva. "Be awed by my prowess," indeed. XD Tezuka zone again. Atobe notices Tezuka's injury. FB: 1st year TezuOishi; Sei's been stuck at prefectural for past 5 years, Tezu promises to lead team to Nationals. Sempai-tachi beat up on li'l Tezuka. [First instance of chibi bumper, with the Yamabuki boys gossiping about Atobe, who's alternately monster-like and posing with the mirror.]
066: Tezuka v. Atobe. FB: Last year's Senbatsu, Sanada pov of Hametsu e no Rondo. Atobe's going for a long game. Tezuka blocks Rondo. [CB: Tezuka made of stone.]
067: Tezuka v. Atobe. Zero-shiki drop. Tezuka's shoulder goes dead. Ryoma goes to warm up w/ Momo. TvA reaches 6-6, goes into tiebreak. [No CB]

074: Tezuka decides to go to Germany. Team angsts. Tezuka v. Ryoma. Tezuka plays right-handed, still creates Tezuka Zone.
075: Tezuka v. Ryoma. Tezuka's racket strings snap. Ryoma switches to his right hand. (6-4, Tezuka).

* Ikkyu Nyukon = "One Shot to Your Soul" - Also worth mentioning: Kabaji's the only one said to be able to return Ohtori's scud serve. (57)

* There seems to be more distinction made between non-burning and burning Taka in these eps, also. (60)

* Uniform note. Hyoutei don't seem to have bad pants here, but brown. (Girls' uniform same on top, skirt matches pants.) (62)

078: [D1] Eiji-Oishi v. Kiriyama-Ohta. Kiriyama scares me. So does Hanamura-sensei. >>; Kiriyama-Ohta Thunderbolt. Oishi's spin serve (underhand, sim. to twist).

083: Ryoma v. Shinjou. Who is so a Vulcan. Shinjou's Mirage. FB: Shinjou's interview w/ Inoue, which proves he's a Vulcan. Hanamura's still hitting on Ryoma. Shinjou uses Deep Impulse, complete with crazy disco colors.
084: Ryoma v. Shinjou. More Deep Impulse (at least four total), FB: younger Shinjou with not terrible hair.

086: Fudomine-Yamabuki: Uchimura-Mori 7-6; Ishida-Sakurai 4-6; Shinji 6-1; Kamio v. Sengoku. Kamio pulls a shot out of his ASS and pwnz the game. holy crap. 7-6. Go Kamio. Sengoku reconsiders his game.

089: Dan wants to be just like Ryoma! awwit'scute. Ryoma v. Dan. (6-0)
090: Beach volleyball ep. Ryoma-Kaidoh v. Sasabe-Sasabe (volleyball). Nanjiroh is weird, Sasabe is mean, Ryoma's a brat. Nothing's changed. ^^;
091: Intro Rokkaku, while Seiga's still on vacation. Saeki knows Fuji; Aoi's a Ryoma fanboy. And Eiji is a monkey. Ryoma v. Aoi, no score.

Kantou Semifinals:
Seigaku v. Rokkaku; Fudomine v. Rikkai.

Rokkaku:
092: [D2] Momo-Taka v. Davide-Bane-chan. Naturally, what follows is a power match.
093: Momo-Taka v. Davide-Bane-chan. Davide ties up his hair (he's serious now). Momo calms down and is able to read his opponents' moves. Taka's Dash Hadokyuu (7-6, came back from 0-5)
094: [D1] Eiji-Fuji v. Saeki-Itsuki. Saeki predicts Eiji's movements based on his kendo training.
095: Eiji-Fuji v. Saeki-Itsuki. Itsuki seals the Tsubame Gaeshi by hitting a ball without spin; Eiji's exhausted. (6-2)
096: [S3] Ryoma v. Aoi. Aoi's hexagonal racket lets him hit everything harder. Game is paused at 4-4 due to sunset.
097: ... So Ryoma goes home and plays Nanjiroh. The boy needs another hobby, I swear. And then he goes to the court at dead o'clock in the morning and plays Aoi again. And the match actually continues, with several deuces... (6-4)

FILLER:

098: Billiards no Oujisama! One week after the Rokkaku match. Momo, Kaidoh, Horio, Ryoma. Eiji, Oishi, Taka, Ryuzaki. Fuji, Inui, Kachirou, Katsuo. final: Ryoma v. Fuji, Ryoma wins.
099: Cursed racket episode. doom doom doom.
100: Oishi has trouble keeping the team in order; is worried about them, calls all of them in to talk about their concerns... Ryoma v. Taka-Fuji; Inui-Kaidoh-Momo v. Eiji (two balls).
101: Everyone follows Ryoma to redeem his sushi coupon. Ann drops by with the tape from Fudo-Rikkai. [Shinji-Kamio v. Yanagi-Sanada (0-6); Tachibana v. Kirihara (Tachibana twists his ankle during the game; 1-6) Oishi has the brilliant idea to make everyone eat wasabi sushi. -.-; - And then they all prepare in their own ways.
