TREK ICON BATTLE! :D

So the engineers thought it would be fun to have an icon battle!

You'll have till Tuesday 11:59pm EDT to submit pictures.

Then you'll have 'till Sunday 11:59pm EDT to submit icons. One icon for each picture. That post will go up Tuesday night after all the picture submissions are in.

Please provide a link to 1-3 Trek related pictures, in order of preference. (Since depending on how many people submit pictures, the second choices might get cut) If you have no intention of making icons, please don't submit pictures. It can be any trek, any movie, the animated series, a Trek actor, whatever. Please try not to submit similar pictures that only have minor differences.

Make sure your links work! (xD I know, us engineers know from the scavenger hunt game thing that a lot of time links won't always work the way you want them to.)

UPDATE: Since there were only a couple pictures submitted (I'm going to let picture submission go until tuesday and will just go with whatever we have then! (Also if you want to throw a third picture in go ahead!)

I'm sure some of you are familiar with Mafia, I thought it might be fun to have a game here during the break before the next phase. Star Trek characters only of course! I know the game has been played to death at several places, but I wanted something that lots of people could do together, not just in teams. Inter team mingling! (Other games can be played here. GO FOR IT IF YOU WANT!)

And since I'm pants at playing Mafia, I'd run the game. The times wouldn't be regular day/night, I start work at 4/5pm a few times a week (Australian time), so the posts could be up on time all the time, day time would have to be 9pm EST (NY) to 3pm EST. It's a smaller day, but it gives me enough time to get a night post up before I go to work.

Stolen from mafialair, said much clearer than I could ever do.

How to play Mafia.

A group of people will have a proportional number of innocents and assassins. Each night, the assassins gather in their secret lair and decide which innocent to kill. During the day, innocents and assassins alike mingle and decide who to execute under suspicion of being an assassin. Assassins will, of course, attempt to lead innocents astray.

Innocents win the game by executing all the assassins; assassins win by bringing innocent numbers equal to assassin numbers (because they then control the voting and would eventually execute all the innocents anyway).

There are special roles in Mafia, but I think for a first game here, just a "Healer" (can choose one person each night to save from the assassins.). We will call them a Doctor though.

This will only work if several people are interested, at least 15, so we don't have a game over in three days or something.

Hi. Over at teamengineering we do a couple of social, "Hi how are you" posts each week. I like them. They seem to be quite popular and they help me feel like I know my team mates. However it occurred to me that I have very little interaction with people from Bridge and Med Bay, which sucks. So I decided to start having similar social posts over here so we can all get to know each other, interact, share awesome things we've found on the net, whatever we feel like. :D
