Sarah Palin supporters piss me off more than Palin does on her own. Do not be impressed by mediocrity! Demand more or your leaders. Greatness should be a requirement, not an exception. (As should be the ability to properly pronounce the word 'nuclear')

In a similar vein, my cousin was arrested at the protest at the Hofstra debate. Nassau police are idiots but I am so proud of him. I also feel woefully inadequate. I'd really love to single-handedly drive Florida's divorce rate sky high by marrying and divorcing weekly to make a mockery of Prop 2. If this 'sacred' institution can be abused at will by me, imagine what all those nasty gay people would do to it! They might spend $100 bucks on a license to marry anybody! A little boy! A dog! What's worse, they might actually be loving families! Oh the humanity! It's too bad that the cost to file for divorce is like 1/5 of my paycheck because I'd do it.

I had a rather one-sided conversation about gay sex which segued itself into a conversation about the logistics of anal sex in general. And I *wasn't* the one doing the talking. I know I've always said how awesome it was to be close to the guys that I train martial arts with, but I think we've just reached a whole new level. I love them, but perhaps not that much.

I also rent random films just to watch Ewan McGregor kiss other boys.

The job search is getting a little bit better. I had decent interviews at Bath and Body Works and Charlotte Russe this week, and I've got one at BCBG/Max Azria tomorrow. Perhaps I would be happier in a regular 9-5 since it would allow me to train in the evenings but I'm not quite sure what I would do in an office. My teacher stopped giving morning classes due to poor attendance but Thiago Pitbull's school is close too and he teaches mornings if I get stuck with night shifts.

Hmmm...so much to do and nothing to get done.

My hand hurts from filling out job applications. It's so difficult to interview and tell a potential employer that you have plans to leave for 3 weeks in a month's time but reassure them that it's sooo worth it to hire me now. Although I'd be willing to cancel the trip (which is to help pack up my grandparents' house...and maybe attend a grappling competition) if need be to get the Assistant Manager position at Hot Topic.

I just need to do damage control on my application. I was handing in other applications around the mall and dressed appropriately-- read: white floral sundress with blazer and hip pink purse, aka-- not Hot Topicesque, but I saw the "Hiring Management" sign and couldn't resist.

What additional skills do I bring to Hot Topic?
Ummm, historical analysis of obscure events in Irish history?

Why did I choose to apply at HT?
All the cool kids work there. Plus I can start wearing my collar again.

I started out the week at 221, cutting weight just in case I got lumped in with the men's division. I was aiming for 199. I got to 205 before I decided I'd rather be have enough fuel to be able to focus on my final exams. Ended up weighing in at 208, only to end up with a woman who was 230. I lost on points. But it was a blast anyway.

And thank you Charles McCarthy for not butchering my name. Alexis...Bl...hm. And uh, Lena...mmph. Well...GIRLS MATCH! Too bad he put more effort into pronouncing our names than he did against Bisping.

Now I want pancakes.

Well. That was embarrassing.

Watching McCarthy was bad, but OH MY GOD Kalib Starnes. I really hope that tomorrow I hear news that he was hospitalized in the end stages of some seriously debilitating disease because that's really the only explanation for that fiasco.

Two sweaty, shirtless guys embracing while having water cascading over their heads sounds like an Axe commercial for the young gay male demographic. In other places, it's an invitation for ridicule at best, hate crimes at worst.

I have fic!! Also, I'm going to make filters so that the rest of you poor souls don't need to be bombarded by my current obsession. (Read: Jens+hot boys).

Mostly this is to prevent people from seeing stuff they really don't want to think about. If anyone requests it, I can make more specific groups (lotr only, RL only, ufc only, etc.)

So, if you absolutely can't stand anymore Ultimate Fighting/Mixed Martial Arts stuff, let me know. You'll get everything but that.

***More importantly, if you don't want SLASH fanfic (hot, and sometimes not so hot, boy on boy action), let me know about that too. I can't eliminate all slashy non-fic entries, because then I'd have no journal, but I'll try to sort that out as best I can.*** I don't care why, you're insecure in your sexuality, you're a relative who just doesn't need to know, you're allergic to badslash...whatever. You have an out.

If I missed something, let me know.

Comments are screened and I won't feel badly if there are aspects of my journal that you don't want to read. I know my journal went from OMGORLANDO!! to OMGDRACO!! to OMGBoysKickingEachOthers'Asses!!

I'll try my best to use the filters properly every time, but forgive me if I mess up sometimes!
