First Play Session ๐ป๐๐๏ธ
It FINALLY happened! ๐ I had everything set out and ready for this particular play session for a while, so, having made up my mind, I got right down to it. I started by setting my timer. โฒ๏ธ This encourages me to stay focused on my activity, which can be difficult. Thoughts of what I should be doing (housework, commissions, etc.) tend to otherwise continuously creep in.
I started with 30 minutes, but did two sessions.
Then I made sure to have all my supplies laid out… ๐งธ๐๏ธ๐
Finally I could get my cartoons going! ๐บ
Early Care Bears sure is… something. ๐ I LOVE the opening song, but some of the voices really do feel like grown ass adults failing badly to do a child’s voice (this is especially egregious with human female characters).
When I bought this DVD, I thought this was the Care Bears that I grew up with, but more careful research shows me that the one I remember must be The Care Bears Family series, because one of my most vivid memories is of the character No Heart. I remember being a little scared of him as a very young girl (lol). Then again, I was also scared of the Purple Pieman from Strawberry Shortcake. ๐
Anyway… this is about as far as I got in this night:
I watched maybe four episodes (or rather, two episodes each featuring two segments). For a play session, it was nothing too spectacular, but hopefully I’ll have another one soon.
New Playroom Friend ๐๐งธ
As I have not had a chance to make a proper first playroom post yet (too busy with commissions and cat nonsense for playtime) allow me to share this one small thing with you, since it is something that is in the playroom, so there will be a non-placeholder post on the Playroom sub-site.
I got this little Big Bird vinyl coin bank on eBay. Doesn’t he look adorable with his overalls and teddy! I intend to play with him, but he also makes a lovely display.
I had a thing for collecting plastic coin banks as a kid, and technically still do, but they take too much room. I only have a few left these days.
Speaking of the sub-site, I’ve finished the page with the playroom tour, although I have yet to record the daytime video. I’ll do that sometime soon. Also, my Toybox pages have been moved to the Playroom, so you won’t see that in the primary menu anymore. If you go to the Playroom site and click on any of the Toybox menu categories, you’ll see the pages redesigned and with a cute sidebar of their own! I’m really happy with how that came out.
