The long awaited day has arrived. Jordan Call and I duked it out over the state of collegiate jazz education in America. In what is sure to be the most consequential rhetorical sparring match this century will see, we picked apart the influence of the university on the modern jazz landscape, explored the proper way to learn music, argued craft vs taste, and discussed what it means to make “good” art.
