What happens during your appointment

Every skin check appointment at Spot Check Clinic follows a structured, doctor-led process:

Doctor-led examination

A thorough skin assessment performed by an experienced skin cancer doctor using dermoscopy and digital imaging where indicated.

Findings discussed during your visit

Your doctor discusses all findings during the appointment, with time for questions.

Clear plan for next steps

If further investigation or treatment is recommended, your doctor explains the options and outlines next steps before you leave.

If treatment is needed

If a lesion requires further investigation or treatment, we perform biopsies, excisions and other in-clinic procedures. When referral to a surgical specialist is needed, this is arranged promptly, with coordinated follow-up.

Our doctors have advanced training and qualifications in skin cancer medicine.

What is 3D mole mapping?

The OptimaScan total body photography system takes 108 high resolution cross-polarised photos of your body and stitches them together into a 3D model of your skin surface, creating a 3D model of your skin surface for accurate comparison over time. Software compares before-and-after images to assist in detection of new or changing lesions. Learn more…
