Tech Speak

The majority of websites I've been on have been fairly easy to use. That's not the case with Livejournal. Why is it that every time I click on something here I spend at least an hour on google looking up the definitions to all the techno words I've come across? I didn't know what an lj-cut, hotlinking, or html codes were, but it seems like almost everyone on here does (I'll be suprised if I manage to lj-cut this correctly). I get the feeling that I'm really going to have to work to get used to this site, but Fanfiction.net was bothering me so much I think it this will be a good change.
