HEY YOU! Omgs, do you even know who I am anymore. In the past two weeks, there was a surprise hardcore snowstorm that killed the power for a few days, I was sick and bedridden for another few days, AND swimming has been happening. We had our first meet on Friday and it was wonderfully fun. I didn't do too badly either. Oh, The Submarines, has anyone heard of them? Their song "Peace and Hate" is amazing and I would upload it but music uploading and my internet connection are not best friends. Brett finally bought an iPod and she has that, some White Stripes songs, and a Cardigans song on it, so despite only having ten songs, I find her to have pretty classy music taste. So rare!

This update is mostly to chronicle the MOST AMAZING NIGHT EVER, which was last night. M.I.A. concert!! Details and photos are under the cut. The photos turned out a lot worse than they should have, but I didn't have a memory card, so I had to make the picture quality really low to keep any pictures.

First off, we got there really early. We got lost on the way to Philadelphia because my dad used to live there and refused to look at directions, but still, we were really early. So we parked in front of the place and sat there and watched all the high school hipsters standing in their t-shirts and scarves in the thirty degree windy weather. It was funny. Half an hour before the doors opened, Gina (my sister) and I went to get in line, and people kept handing out Red Bull and Monster and some of the people around us were getting really annoying. But I digress. The Electric Factory was a lot smaller than Terminal 5 (which is where I went to see M.I.A. in New York) and most of the people at the Electric Factory looked a lot younger. I didn't feel like the only high schooler there. They were all dressed pretty obnoxiously though and Gina felt silly in her varsity jacket, aw. So we got in there pretty early and got right up front! Yay!

Opening first was DJ Blaqstarr. He was good. He was in New York too! After him were Santogold and Amanda Blank. AMAZING. They were so cute. They looked so happy and energetic and smiley and loved making eye contact with the audience. That's them in the (insanely crappy) photo. Then Spank Rock came out and did a song with Amanda and everyone went caaaarazyay. After them, the Cool Kids performed. I liked them a lot too. Especially "Pump Up The Volume". You should check all these people out on myspace if you feel like it. Rye Rye was there too, I love her voice. It is massively adorable.

The, uh, third world dictator guy thing that comes on before M.I.A.! I couldn't see it really well because the speaker was right there but then this girl told me that it was on a screen in the back so we turned around and we could see it.

I was on the left half of the stage so I'm still partially deaf in my left ear. BUT HOLY CRAP. There was this little platform thing and she came over and sat on it a lot. So ~*surreal*~ being only a few feet from her! Gah! When she looked at the audience kjgkdfgdf omg. I love when people make eye contact and shtuff.

The show was amazing. There was so much energy with the crowd and the performers, just everyone. I'm in pretty bad shape though, lolol. Of course my voice is gone from screaming and singing, my feet and legs are dead from wearing heels, I'm half-deaf, and I literally got climbed on. Since I was right in front, when she called people on stage, they actually climbed on me. It was kind of funny, but ow. After that mass orgy I got pushed back to like... the third row of people but still who cares. And she threw water on us! Gah it was so adorable. It was her last U.S. show, so... I don't know, everyone was all extra excited and stuff. I liked it much more than the New York one. Since I was closer to the front we were all squishy and grinding and jumping on each other and sweaty. Gina was much less fierce than me, however, so she got pushed pretty far back. :'(

Encore! She did Paper Planes last and since Philly is all OMG CRAZY GUN MURDER RATE she was all "this is your song!!" and it was really cute and everyone was going SO FREAKING CRAZY. It was amazing, I can't even explain it.

Everyone that performed came on stage for the encore. The picture on the right... in front are The Cool Kids but Mikey, the really adorable one, is blocked by someone's arm. :( And behind them are Santogold and Amanda Blank. And DJ Blaqstarr is to the right of Amanda.

I hope you enjoyed my gloating. :D Now I should do homework since I wasn't home at all yesterday and AH WHY CAN'T SCHOOL JUST STOP EXISTING. It snowed though and it's supposed to ice/rain tonight soooooo maybe no school tomorrow? I don't really care, as long as the power doesn't go out. Eeeeeeeh.

Post anything that you want here, and post it anonymously. Post a story, a secret, a confession, a fear, a love. Tell me how much you love me or how much you hate me. Make sure to post anonymously and honestly. Post as many times as you'd like. Then, put this in your LJ to see what others have to say!

It's public so you can be all stealthy about it. I was goooing to update about swimming but that would ellicit "UR SO SHALLOWZ Y IS THAT ALL U TALK ABOUT EVER" types of comments (or thoughts, you guys are too nice to say that to me) so I'll save that for later. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES IN TWENTY MINUTES, YAY. Plus my computer gets to go to the computer doctor tomorrow, DOUBLE YAY. Also, I really like using lyrics in subjects because it's fun but I didn't want to just start randomly doing it, you know? Well, I AM NOW!
